GPT Google Review for R-N Market on N Cedar Ave, Fresno Rating: ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5 stars) Pros: Wide Selection of Asian Groceries: R-N Market shines with its extensive array of Asian food products. From fresh vegetables and exotic fruits not commonly found in regular stores, to a variety of sauces, noodles, and snacks, this market caters well to those looking for authentic Asian ingredients. Competitive Prices: The prices here are very reasonable, especially for specialty items that are typically marked up at other stores. This makes R-N Market a go-to spot for budget-conscious shoppers who don’t want to compromise on the authenticity of their Asian culinary creations. Friendly Staff: The employees at R-N Market are helpful and often go out of their way to assist customers in finding products or explaining the uses of unfamiliar ingredients. Cons: Store Organization: Newcomers might find the layout a bit confusing. The aisles are not always clearly marked, and some items are placed in unexpected sections, which can make shopping trips longer than anticipated. Aesthetic and Cleanliness: The store could benefit from some updates in terms of aesthetics and overall cleanliness. While it maintains a basic level of upkeep, enhancing these aspects could greatly improve the shopping experience. Conclusion: R-N Market in Fresno is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to dive into Asian cuisine or to find specific ingredients that are hard to locate elsewhere. The store’s impressive selection and competitive prices make it a valuable community asset. While there are areas for improvement in store layout and cleanliness, the positives greatly outweigh these minor drawbacks. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a curious novice eager to explore Asian cooking, R-N Market provides the goods and the atmosphere to inspire your culinary journey. Highly recommended for those in the area seeking a taste of Asia right in their backyard!

Returned from a weeklong trip and my husband presents me with a(nother) cooking challenge-“let’s” make this ahi sushi-ish dish as he goes on to describe a host of delightful Asian flare…off we go. After having just left Home Depot notorious for their manned self check-out lanes while the aisles remain help free ghost towns, we were FLOORED by the customer service at RN. Yes we spent an hour meandering wide eyed at the possibilities of our untapped market possibilities, but when we got serious, the help was there, and walked with us to find what we needed. And when we finally arrived to the WOMANNED checkout line, we overheard the gal say to the customer, “oh honey you don’t want this” as she ran with the young girl’s head of cabbage having used her powers of perception (the two loaves a bread the dead giveaway) that the youthful shopper was sent by mom for lettuce…off she ran to fetch the right item. Our turn was up but not before I was off on another wild goose chase for seaweed for another idea we concocted while in line. By the time I returned my husband had paid and told me to get in line but the cashier told me to pass the others and head on up and no one seemed to mind at all. Then she asks the obvious…”are you making sushi?” “Gonna try,” we replied.. “Well then this is not the kind you need. This is for soup.” And off she went. We were floored. She had apparently even talked my husband out of a spicy siracha mayo purchase suggesting a better alternative and since we had both ingredients at home she in fact also saved us the cost of a Big Mac combo. We hit the trifecta with having patient customers in line who went on to inform us our cashier was well known for her enthusiastic helpfulness and indeed tragically kind. Definitely going back, and my guess is will easily convince her to teach me how to cook a few dishes.

I generally love the selection this market has, however... I had such an awful recent experience on August 1, 2025. A cashier scanned a barcode by the register instead if the actual product I was getting that was labelled on sale. She even went and looked at where the paper advertising it was on sale was at only to come back and say that flavor did not apply(there were only two flavors on sale...) and initially I thought, okay, whatever, it's just like $2 more than expected. Except I went to drink it today, four days after purchasing it to find out it was ALREADY past it's Sell By Date when it was being sold?! I included photos of the bottles from the two flavors I purchased to show the disgusting gap between the dates for the one that was supposed to be on sale(pink drink on the right) and the one that wasn't(blue drink on the left), as well as the receipt with the date if purchase and the item the cashier scanned instead of the actual items I purchased. Disgusting!

Service can be hit and miss from the staff. Most of the good service I've received were from the younger staff members; the older staff can be a bit awkward and come off rude, may just be a language barrier - an older staff member stocking produce blocked me in by the cucumber and refused to let me by. I had to walk back and around to get the veges behind him as he stared me down in silence the whole time. Didn't frustrate me, just awkward.

I would stay away from getting produce here anyway, unless you absolutely need it since most of it feels like it's been picked weeks ago.

Good place to grab canned products for recipes; coconut milk, mushrooms, bamboo, etc.

Has most utensils/ingredients to make sushi, gimbap, noodle soups, stir fries, bbqs, and most other popular Asian dishes, just won't be the freshest.

Store does have a meat section with options of thinly sliced meats for kbbqs and soups and a small seafood area.

Good store for Asian ingredients but won't be a one-stop. Does lack some quality in produce. Some staff may need customer...
