*UPDATE Shortly after I posted this I received a call from the store manager, Robert. He was deeply apologetic and offered me a full refund for the repair! Even though I've had a bad experience at this location Robert was extremely understanding of my situation and I am really grateful of the customer service he has just provided me, this has really benefited me since Christmas is right around the corner. Thank you!
DO NOT GO TO BATTERY AND BULBS FOR ANY SMARTPHONE REPAIR! On December 8th I posted on GWOM asking for places that does affordable repairs for smartphones. I appreciated all of the responses and I dumbly decided to go to the one place that wasn't mentioned in the comments, Battery and Bulbs. Most of you guys recommended iCare, however Battery and Bulbs only charged $129.99 compared to iCare's $154.99. I went in there on the 9th and they fixed the screen, later on that day I found out that the Siri feature and voice control was totally inoperable. It was weird because the mic for phone calls was still working, so I dropped it back off on the 11th and one of the associates named Kim inspected it and called me saying they didn't have the part for it and that it would be coming in Monday (12/14), so I picked up my iPhone, got to work and the WHOLE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCREEN WAS NOT WORKING. Like literally, the whole right side of the screen had NO sensitivity, so I went back 20 minutes later and the lady Kim called me saying its ready, AGAIN. Picked it up on my break and guess what was wrong with it now?! THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN WASN'T WORKING!! I was unable to use the letters "h,b,g,v,t,y" when texting and I was unable to select any app from the 3rd column. But wait! It doesn't stop there. I decided to deal with the middle of the screen being inempt until the 14th after all, I only had to wait 3 days. On the 14th Kim called saying the part came in for Siri, so I went back and 45 minutes later it was done, or at least I thought. I told her about the middle of the screen not working that day and I assumed that she would have fixed it when she was working on the siri part, but nope it still WAS NOT FIXED! She then came up with this theory saying my new screen protector wasn't applied correctly because there was air bubbles, so I took the screen protector off and of course she was wrong. She ended up having to replace the whole entire glass. But want to know what the funny part is? 3 days after she replaced the glass and taking of my screen protector my phone dropped not even a foot and the screen cracked today. So thank you battery and bulbs for taking $250+ (cost of their repair and the repair somewhere else) away from me that I could have used on my family for Christmas this year. I am taking my services elsewhere this time, do not go to this business because they will cause you nothing but stress and listen to the "cheap work isn't good and good work isn't cheap"...
Read moreSorry so long but feel needed to explain for transparency purposes. Have all garage-kept toys and purchased many ATV, UTV, Motorcycle batteries over the last 25 years (typically from the dealer) and have never had a battery not last many times over its manufacture warranty. But decided to support local brick & mortar store paying double ~$120 for their store brand Xtreme AGM 30AH battery for my Polaris 800. I could have purchased a very similar 30AH AGM battery online for $70 having exactly the same 1-yr warranty, but thought local store would give me better customer service and be more flexible if things don't pan out for some strange reason. Battery seemed to stop taking trickle charge and struggled during startup during past holidays. So, at right over 13th month I took into store and store owner first stated he could not warranty battery, would have to eat cost of battery since would not get reimbursed, and that sales person was only employed for 4 months at that point and should have sold me the 2-yr Duracell battery instead. Store owner first offered only 10% off toward new battery, then called several days later to offer at his cost of $89 instead of $120 (25% off), and then after I already ordered online at $70 (no tax no shipping) that he spoke with owner and would match the online offers via Amazon etc. It's too bad that it wasn't handled in such a way from the onset with a practically brand new looking battery, honest explanation of occurrence, and literally only a month past warranty on their store brand battery. Unfortunately...
Read moreI’ve had a very short term useable Gen6 Ipad with a ‘weak’ battery for about a year. It worked fine when connected to a power plug but would die in about 10 minutes when not connected. So, a big aggravation and of limited use for a mobile device.
Apple’s cost to replace the battery was too much for a 3 or 4 year old device. I am not upset with Apple, batteries go bad just like in your car.
Finally gave up and bought a new Gen9 Ipad so I am good to go. But I still thought about the Gen6 device sitting around that still worked when attached to power.
One day I ran across a Batteries Plus ad. BP’s ad stating they would replace the battery for $99.00 – battery & labor included. I decided to check it out.
On 1.8.2024 I went to Batteries Plus in GatorVille on Archer Road near 34th Street with said Ipad6 in hand.
I dropped the Ipad6 off about 10 AM and they called me to pick it up about 2:30 PM or so on the same day.
It now acts like a refurbished Ipad should and does not need a power plug to work.
If you happen to have an Ipad with a depleted battery that still works. I suggest you take it to Batteries Plus before you purchase a new one.
Robert, Mike & Nick were most accommodating in replacing the battery in my Ipad.
Oh yea – they gave me a $10 coupon and I was out the door for about $95.
Not too bad for an aging device that should work for another year or two.
Thanks Batteries Plus for a...
