I have done a number of escape rooms and have played the games since its beginnings on PC. I'm sad to see the poor reviews this room has received. I truly enjoyed this escape game and remember it fondly. This room is well thought out . The aesthetic simplicity harkens back to the games origins. Nothing exists that isn't deliberate and thought out. I would consider this one of the more difficult rooms I've done. Difficult in that it is not spelled out for you, mentally stimulating in its meta mechanics. It doesn't rely solely on padlocks, combos, or red herrings. What time and money hasn't been used on unusable props (common in other escape games I've played) is instead used on unique and unusual puzzles. If you are seeking more of a challenge and enjoy the nostalgia of true escape rooms then this is for you. If you prefer in your face, obvious, linear, and formulaic escape games then look elsewhere. Also, as a recommendation to reviewers of escape rooms: if you are commenting on an experience based on another group ruining your time please remember you can book the room for yourself to...
Read moreAs previously said, save your money. This was the most awkward escape room experience I've every had, and I have a couple escape rooms under my belt.
First, this room was on the second floor of a plaza that is kinda hard to find.
Second, the layout of the room. The best way I can describe it, is that you're visiting your grandparent's new apartment in south Florida and have just discovered that they're dabbling in some stuff they shouldn't be.
Third, and this was the worst part, the host in the room. When you go into these rooms, you get this synced up mentality with your group. It helps you flow better and everything. The host literally sat in the room with us for the whole hour. He sat on a couch, with his arms crossed over his chest with a disgruntled or bored look on his face. The whole time it felt like he was judging us and it threw us all off. None of us had fun. After we left the room, that was the biggest complaint we had amongst ourselves.
End result: An awkward and uncomfortable experience that we won't be looking to experience again.

Read moreIt's a little pricey at $30 a person for an hour but we had a blast and it was a different experience was fun and stimulating! Definitely out of the ordinary for something fun and different. We choose the Spellbound room. Sam, JeQa and Maurice were all very kind and supportive and said they enjoyed watching us work together as a couple. We did not finish because it was just my husband and I but we got really close and they were impressed with how much we managed to do as a couple when the room was designed for 6-8 people. They guided us through the rest of the room and let us finish it. (A suggestion I would recommend for smaller groups would be to allow extra time to compensate for lack of extra people? Maybe?) If we had one more person with us, we probably would have finished the room in the time allowed. I'd estimate we needed maybe 15-20 more minutes for the two of us. My husband and I would like to offer ourselves as beta testers for new rooms if you need them :) we'd love to help in the future. Maurice said you...
