We have been using Lot B - Official Port of Galveston for many years when we cruise out of Galveston. It is convenient, secured and the shuttles are clean. On Sunday, January 22,2023 we returned to our vehicle at 7:45 am from a 7 day cruise to find that our vehicle would not start. We were parked close to the shuttle pick up area and all of the employees we encountered were nice and genuinely concerned for us, offering words of comfort or knowledge of possible ideas to try. Even the shuttle mechanic, Jose, came over to see if he could get us on the road home. He would not accept a tip of appreciation. Richard Smith, the front gate attendant, welcomed us on the morning of our cruise embarkation with an upbeat attitude, smile and genuine excitement for us to begin our vacation! On the day of debarkation, when we came to the realization we had to get a tow and stay an extra night in Galveston, he was a breath of fresh air as we waited for our Uber. Another member of your team I want to mention is Mark. He checked on us every chance he got while we were waiting for the roadside assistance that our insurance was sending and introduced us to the manager on duty, Taylor Scott. Mr. Scott was extremely professional and reassured us that our vehicle could be kept on the lot until the tow the next morning. The official port of Galveston parking lot is extremely lucky to have all of these individuals working for them; they represent your community incredibly. Employees can make or break businesses and every single one of these people that I have mentioned have represented a stellar, gold standard! We had our vehicle towed back to Corpus Christi, Texas and were relieved to find it was only the starter that wasn’t working! Please convey our extreme gratitude to your wonderful team. We look forward to using your service on our next...
Read moreGreat trip to get ready to board our cruise ship. Crew was friendly and timely in getting both ourselves and our luggage loaded. Getting ready to leave back to the parking lot after the trip, the line was quick and the staff was efficient. However, we were the first people to load our bus, and the first ones to place our luggage in the car of the bus crew, and upon arrival to the parking lot, we realized not all of our luggage had been loaded. At first, the staff did not seem like they wanted to help us, and were not volunteering to look for it until we were visibly upset and panicking about losing our possessions. Then, the staff said they would look again at the terminal, and I also informed crew at the loading station in the parking lot (I believe his name was Taylor, who tried as much as he could to be helpful, and checked multiple times with terminal crew about this incident). However, we saw our bus come and go without a word from crew whether they had looked or found it or not. A few busses later, a member of our group went BACK to the terminal to look for herself, and found it almost right away. We believe despite it being the first set of bags that should have been loaded, is was accidentally discarded to the side. All in all, an extremely stressful experience that could have been avoided, but we are grateful to the staff that seems to genuinely care about helping, especially Taylor. Seems like a good crew and efficient service, but piece of advice, watch them load...
Read moreThis was my 1st solo trip with my special needs son. Unfortunately, today, we waited in the rain for an extensive amount of time waiting for a wheelchair accessible shuttle. When one finally came along, Mr. Kurt made room for us to get us out of the cold and rain. The guys at the port loaded all of my things onto the shuttle. Upon arrival to the parking lot, Kendrick came to the shuttle, saw all of my things, and began to snap at Mr. Kurt for having so much stuff on his bus! He even told him, "You the driver, you could've told them not to load all this on here!" I stood up and tried telling him it was my stuff, and I even asked him if he was having a bad day. He slung my things off and then stopped helping Mr. Kurt all together. He even told another worker not to help Mr. Kurt with my things. I asked for a supervisor and reported my disgust to them. Supervisor Taylor heard my grievances, helped me load my van, and apologized for Kendrick's behavior. There is no excuse to treat people the way Kendrick treated his coworker, Mr. Kurt or a vacationer, which is me and my special needs son!! It's a blessing that I can travel with him and even more of a blessing that Carnival allows the equipment I need to keep him safe and comfortable. Thank you, Supervisor Taylor, Mr. Kurt and Mr. Stuart for your kindness today. A little message to Kendrick: Just don't fill out the application next time or call in sick! You had no right to ruin the end of...
