I really wanted to like Emily's and The Pink Room, but it did not live up to the listing or the price point.

Shortly after our arrival at around 6:30 pm, I noticed mold on the bathroom ceiling and I notified Emily via email immediately. There is not a phone number available to call, but after I did not receive a reply, I also sent a text to the number that sent a message with an emergency number. We were told only call that number in an actual emergency or a we would have to pay a fine.

I ended up hearing back from Emily around 9 pm after we were ready for bed. The only solution she offered was for us to leave the property for a refund. I was not about to pack up and head out in the dark in downtown Galveston with my son.

I do not feel the room should have been available for rent with mold and I do not feel I should have had to pay the full price for this room.

Overall, the property is cute, but not well maintained. We found other trash and clothing stickers around the room too.

If you want Southern hospitality,...

Great little gem in the heart of town! My daughter and I took the Polar Express excursion with the Railroad Museum, and I was excited to find Emily’s within walking distance. The Palms room was beautiful, and the snacks provided came in handy while we waited between check in & the train ride. My 6 yr old was super excited that the little refrigerator was “her size” & she could access everything “on her own”. The bed was comfortable, the kitchenette was stocked with essentials, and the complimentary shampoo/conditioner was an added bonus.

The only improvement I can think of is that It would be helpful to leave a laminated page in the room with the text contact number (you can’t reach a live person via phone), emergency number (which was also emailed & texted) and local establishment numbers for visitor ease.

We had such a fun time that my daughter wanted to stay a second night, and we will...

Wow! What a fantastic find! We stayed in the Palms room for a weekend getaway and this met all of our expectations. The room is very nice and clean. The bathroom/shower is outstanding and the bed was very comfortable (overslept, in fact and I rarely sleep well in hotels). Emily is very communicative and the check-in/check-out process was very easy! These boutique rooms are located a three block distance from The Strand and so many other shops, restaurants, and bars in downtown Galveston. There is a fantastic restaurant/bar located just across the street (Sugar and Rye). It is an outstanding value - especially considering what you would pay if you tried to stay in one of the Seawall hotels. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend! Thank you...

I stayed at the Banana Bay Room, Suite 2 for Labor Day weekend. The room was cozy and had great decor, in addition to a nice bathroom, comfortable bed and TV with Wi-Fi. Loved the pink and palm leaf colors. There were also two complementary bikes that came with the stay, which were great for riding around downtown and to the beach when the trolleys aren’t running. Location is great, walkable to The historic Strand and the restaurants and shops. This was my first visit to Galveston and I would definitely recommend coming here again. Also, a great value compared to other hotels and stays in the area. Also, I would recommend Sugar and Rye Restaurant on the corner for drinks or dinner. The food was delicious.

We booked The Pink Room at Emily’s on the Island since it’s so close to The Strand in Galveston and a close walk to all the fun shops and eatery’s. Just as soon as we hit the door we instantly loved the lofty modern style mixed with eclectic prints that greeted us. It had everything we needed to be cozy for a night stay and I adore its historic feel both in and out. You have truly sitting on a gold mine and we hope you will be blessed growing even more wonderful ventures in the future. Thanks again Emily’s on the Island we are definitely coming back for another stay!
