In short, Excited with the advertisement, disgusted by the experiences.
This supermaket has many items that are slightly more expensive than other Asian supermakets, but it's reasonable due to the fact that the place it is located is an expensive area. Parking spots are scarce; I have to drive around its building trying to find a parking spot due to the fact that it is nearly noon on Monday.
As a frequent shopper at Asian grocery stores, I was disappointed that many items were missing the price, and clearly nobody wanted to go back and forth asking for price checking because it was time-consuming. Three items that I want to check the price of did not have price tags on them. Truly disapointed.
My experiences are not great, due to the fact that while trying to not abuse the product bags, my three one-pound items with sharp coners cut the thin bags at several points, so I need an extra bag to put the other one in. While the cahsier speeds varied, they wasted time trying to remove my items and put them together in one bag, making it unsafe to carry around. I am disgusted at how stingy they were. While trying to leave a review on this platform, I saw that they advertised that with any purchase, you have a free item from the cashier, but she DID NOT give me the free items and was just really wasting customer time to save a single damaged product bag. The dishonesty and the stingy act made me disgusted and deeply...
Read moreBún Chả Hà Nội at Restaurant 777 – Hidden Gem Alert! This review is not for the supermarket but for the restaurant inside. This place is hidden in the back food court of Lucky Supermarket in Garden Grove. But if you’re craving authentic northern Vietnamese food, this is a must-try. We came specifically for the Bún Chả Hà Nội, and wow… it’s pretty good. The grilled pork? Smoky, juicy, and perfectly caramelized. You get both fatty pork belly slices and meat patties swimming in a warm, slightly sweet, tangy dipping broth that’s packed with umami. The rice vermicelli noodles are soft and light, perfect for soaking up the broth. And the herb plate? Super fresh with basil, mint, lettuce, and pickled papaya + carrot that cut through the richness beautifully. It’s DIY eating at its finest — build-your-own bites with noodles, herbs, and pork, dipped right into that golden broth. Every bite is balanced and flavorful. Seating is basic — it’s a supermarket food court, after all — but who cares when the food hits like this? They're having "buy two, get one free" deal so my friend and I had one each and I took the free one...
Read moreParking is pretty easy even on weekends. This used to be called "Best Choice supermarket", now it is called Lucky Seafood Supermarket. There is a little food court selling ready to eat types of food. Overall, this place is pretty clean and bright for an Asian supermarket. Items are neatly organized and easy to find. I was looking for Huy Fong Sriracha hot sauce, I tried asking a staff member who was stocking up the shelves. He was friendly and helpful and pointed me to the correct aisles successfully even though his English was very limited. The check out line was pretty quick. Just like most Asian supermarkets there are weekly sales happening every week. Live seafood was not fully stocked where some tanks are empty when I was there. There are live lobster, catfish,...
