Garland City Square — Attraction in Garland

Nice.,.. benches, tables. Picnic tables too. Music. Surrounded by places to eat, drink... Or bring a basket. Coffee shop, florist, furniture store, pizza. seafood, banks, credit union, bars, vintage clothing, home cooking, antiques, many churches, barber and salons,,, YE OLE FEED STORE STILL THERE.. (my fav)!! Food for 🐔, 🐇 🐕 🐈 🐄 🐸 🐍 🐐 hah. 🐝 honey Pet supplies. Tools, buckets, etc.. Stop in at welcome center. Garland Public Library. Texaco, U-Haul, trails, trains, theatre. Thursday eve-- music in the park. Great 🚒 and 🚓 GOOD SAMARITANS OF GARLAND food pantry with volunteers, STREET SHOWERS TUESDAY. PARKLAND MOBILE UNIT 3rd Tuesday each month. Bible study Thursday eve--. Remember get there early for a seat. The churches really HELP. CLOTHING, , LUGGAGE, MEALS. FOOD PANTRY @ GOOD SAM open 9 - 3.30 Sweet folks. Bring I'd walk ins twice wk. Or monthly if you carry or drive. Ask for anything... they can get it. BACK TO SCHOOL TIME GOODIES...

The new and improved square is nice. It's going to take some time to get used to it, but I can tell a lot of preparation when into the plan. I love all of the accessibility since I am disabled. I did a lot of walking this past week and weekend and I was able to go everywhere.

I went to the tree lighting this past week. It was very crowded and while that isn't Garland's fault, it was not very enjoyable. It would be nice if this lasted over the span of 2 to 3 days like the 4th used to. Also, there is virtually no.lighting on the streets by Dos Banderos and by Mrs. J's. That's where they decided to put all of the vendors this year. It was basically dark for those people who spent their time and money getting ready for this event. Additionally, the internet was nonexistent leaving no way for...

Visited the Square recently during Sounds of Summer where my favorite cover band, Mars Hill played last Saturday night. Had a great time jammin' outside with the band, having drinks with some friends and hanging out afterwards for an awesome fireworks display. The place was packed but not overly crowded and very clean and organized. Also has restaurants surrounding the venue. Tried the barbeque kabobs...if you like spicy, these definitely turn up the heat! Great place to hang out for live music and good times...will definitely be watching for future...
