Main Street Deli — Restaurant in Garland

Not impressed.

The place was extremely noisy for only having 2 tables seated with very quiet children. It was so loud we didn't realize we had ordered a ham and cheese sub instead of a grilled ham and cheese sandwich for our son. He's not a fan of cold meat or cold cheese, so we were disappointed to realize the mistake.

His sandwich was also served long before mine and my husband's food, making it a bit awkward to encourage him to eat something he didn't even want when we still didn't have anything.

We were served by several different people, who were all very frieidly, but one I think was supposed to be working on actually preparing the food, which he clearly wasn't putting much effort into.

The food quality was overall ok. My son's sandwich was overly stuffed with ham, and the bread didn't look very toasted (looked like it had just come out of a bag).

My salad was mostly fresh, but the avocado was already turning brown. The salad was in no way chopped, so it was awkward cutting huge chunks of tomato, lettuce and spinach leaves, sliced ham, sliced cheese, and a boiled egg with a plastic knife and plastic fork on a styrofoam plate. Towards the bottom I also found a surprise in my salad - a chunk of clear plastic!

My husband didn't have any complaints about his burger.

The experience and food definitely were not worth what we paid for it, and now I know why this place is basically empty on a Saturday for lunch despite a busy farmer's market just across the street.

Lesson learned! Go...

My mom told me great things about this place so we went to enjoy the food. It is a shame because they brought me the wrong order (which is okay, mistakes happen) but the owner argued with me back and fourth 4 times to say that I ordered the wrong thing and the mistake was on me. I ordered a patty melt and they rang up tuna melt (I have never and will never order a tuna melt). I can see how that is easily misunderstood but the customer service was extremely ill mannered with the finger pointing. They ended up bringing the correct food but made a passive aggressive comment about “here’s your “tuna melt”” when they brought me my patty melt. Food was really fresh and great … maybe she was having a bad day but...

Main Street Deli is a true delight! From the moment I walked in, the owners made me feel incredibly welcome with their kindness and hospitality. It’s clear they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do.

I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap with a side of fries, and wow—what a meal! The wrap was huge, packed with flavor, and perfectly balanced. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right. You can tell everything is made with love and attention to detail.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit. Great food, great people, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to come back...
