I am not the type to write reviews, but I have been going to Crunch Garwood for about 2.5 years and loved it for the most part up until this year. It has gotten way too packed. I understand it is a public commercial gym, but it has gotten out of hand. A majority of the members are under 18 years old and do nothing but mess around the whole time. They come in groups of 3-4+ and occupy machines and benches/racks for excessive amounts of time. Most of them do not belong in a Rec center let alone a weightlifting gym. Every single one of the trainers (besides Andrew/“AD”) are very arrogant and not friendly whatsoever, ESPECIALLY the ones who run the HIIT classes and whatever other fitness classes are ran. They take up more than half the gym during the busiest hours (4-6) with these classes that sometimes only contain 4 people, yet they still close off half the gym making it even more packed and crammed up than it already is, which seems impossible, but is not. More than half of the desk workers are miserable, the others are pretty nice ESPECIALLY GINA!! She is the nicest worker in that gym and I will miss her very much. And last but not least, the older men. As I said, most of the members at this gym are anywhere between 15-20, but there are still many adults that are active members obviously. But, there are a few men (one in particular), who in a lack of better words, are CREEPS (this is coming from a guy). Like I said, one man in particular who I will not name, but goes to crunch for hours a day around 4-6, every day, and does nothing besides CREEPILY STARE and APPROACH predominately UNDERAGE teenagers, boys and girls. I am one of many people who has complained and pointed it out to other members and the staff about this man specifically who is the worst one, but not the only one. If you go to Crunch Garwood anywhere between 4-6, you more than likely know who “towel guy”/“the creep” is. And from what I hear, he lives in a town no where near Garwood that I will not name. With that being said, the Glory Days of crunch have been gone for a long time and it is getting worse by the day and it’s very sad to see considering this has been a place I have gone to almost every single day for over two years. Think twice before getting a...
Read moreMy review is written on behalf of Crunch Gym in Garwood's Personal Training Program.
I want to be clear - my review has NO reflection on the quality of Crunch's trainers. My trainer was professional, respectful, accommodating and motivating up until her last day.
However, I would strongly discourage anyone from signing a training agreement with this location. Their training manager - Will is a complete slime ball. After receiving less than 24 hours notice of my trainer leaving... Crunch is FORCING me to purchase additional sessions (to be used with another trainer) due to an agreement I signed. I had asked to be let out of the contract (out of fairness for the situation) and they would not do it despite me being a loyal client for well over a year. They refused to issue a refund as well.
Moreover, the manager will was condescending and disrespectful to my request to be let out of the training agreement given the circumstances (and short notice). He promised he would "ask his general manager and return my call by Tuesday". I didn't hear a peep. I had to contact him on Friday where I was met with the same condescending and disrespectful tone.
Please heed my warning when I tell you that this gym DOES NOT VALUE THEIR CLIENTS. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR WELL-BEING OR PROVIDING SATISFACTORY CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am so disappointed in the way they conduct their business and I would not recommend anyone to use their training program. Please go elsewhere for training. It's just not worth what the management puts customers through.
UPDATE: I left a message for the owner on Friday asking him to please call me. I have not heard anything. Management has responded to my review asking me to reach out (offline) to resolve. Unfortunately, they did not provide contact information to do so, and none of them seem to return...
Read morePlease read Crunch response, actually blaming me!! FYI i go to the gym to work out!! Not play on my phone, or sitting on the equipment playing or talking on the phone, or talking on a phone while on a treadmill loud enough for the entire gym to hear..during a workout, thanks for proving my complaint with your ridiculous response, did another kid, employee, or the Manager write that!! If this business doesn't want the serious fitness workout person Don't Singn Us Up! My membership was revoked because kids, sit on equipment, all over the floor, playing on the phone, having conversations loudly, don't come to work out,and I do have a huge issue with it!! Saturday a woman on the treadmill, rude! Talking on her phone loudly, disrupting my work out! Very inconsiderate, reported me,seriously, lmao I agree with all the bad reviews, the place is run by kids with piss poor attitudes. The manager, lmao the black girl, manager lmao don't know her name, has a piss poor attitude, like everyone says, no business ethics, at all, blamed me, for her unexceptable conduct, during a work out. As a successful business owner myself, she should have been Fired! Definitely not Manger material, the Manager needs to Go ! If ur looking to work out, seriously, do yourself a huge favor, go elsewhere!. The only good thing about this place is it's cheap,. $15 per month, full of $15 dollar members, now you know why.. As far as getting my money back which i was told i wouldn't, , go to the bank file a claim it works, I've done it before! Here! Now there trying to steal from me Another huge complaint by many...
