uBreakiFix - Phone and Computer Repair — Attraction in Gastonia

I'm updating my review from 1 star because Gabriel, the owner, contacted me directly and worked diligently in getting my phone replaced. Kudos to you sir for doing the right thing!

I took my working phone in to get the cracked screen replaced and left with a broken camera. They said it needs a micro solder repair, they don't do that and to contact Verizon about warranty for my "software issue".

I've spent countless hours driving to Verizon, calling a CSR and being transferred multiple times, doing troubleshooting, and eventually a factory reset. It's not Verizon's responsibility to warranty something Assurion (Ubreakifix retailer) broke.

I'm at a loss and unable to capture precious moments of my baby while stuck in the middle of them pointing blame at each other.

I reported this issue to Assurion's Customer Support and I'm told I'll be contacted within 24 hrs.

The guy at the Gastonia location was absolutely amazing from his professionalism. I have absolutely no issues with this gentleman at all. However the reason for the four stars is to let you know that if you go to you break it I fix it locations, if they take apart your phone and then break a part in the process of disassembling it to fix it they will then charge you to fix what they broke. For example, if your battery needs replaced, camera, any internal part that requires the back plate to be removed, if that back plate breaks it's your responsibility to pay for it even if they break it. Be back plate for my phone cost around 35 to 40 dollars. But if the back plate broke I would have to pay $120 after to fix it even though the phone was already taken apart so I was just paying for a back plate. So to avoid this issue I took my phone apart for them so it didn't accidentally get broken so to speak. Because I did that it shortened my warranty from one year to 6 months even though the only thing I did was take off the adhesive from my back plate. • On Tuesday, July 30th 2024, I visited "uBreakiFix" (2516 E Franklin Blvd Unit B, Gastonia, NC 28056) where the staff was helpful (noting Justice's great customer service in a prior phone call). • The MVP of my visit was Tim who rendered exemplary customer service in regards to my issue's circumstances. Even though my phone's water damage made it contractually unrepairable, Tim considered the troubleshooting steps I'd already taken, then went above-and-beyond by facilitating a means for me to manually recover/backup the data/files from my phone. Throughout the entirety of my visit, Tim was personable, understanding, compassionate, competent, courteous, outgoing, and patient!
