I recently spent $136 on DoorDash, and I regret not going to the store instead. After over five separate orders where parts of my dishes were consistently missing, I’ve decided to leave a review. Today was particularly disappointing—I ordered food and lost my appetite. Whenever we order pho, they always leave out the bean sprouts and cilantro. Today, I ordered a kids’ meal, which comes with veggies. I was charged extra for the shrimp, totaling $18 for a kids’ dish that only came with 5 shrimp and white rice. The kids’ pho was equally disappointing, as it only came with broth and noodles, with no cilantro, lime, sprouts, or meats. I usually don’t leave emotional reviews, but seeing the disappointment on my children’s faces when we order pho, hoping for a decent soup, is very upsetting. I ended up giving them my food, so I can’t honestly review the taste of the items. However, based on principle, I won’t be returning. The worker mentioned that the orders are done this way because the owner instructs them to. It’s time for the owner to take accountability for their business practices. On a positive note, the Thai iced tea was good.

This evening on my way home from work I was hungry and trying to figure out what I wanted for dinner. Nothing sounded good so I proceeded to go home. Just settling in and I had a craving for ramen which was a bit strange because I had never had true ramen before. All I ever had were oodles and noodles which of course are by far from the real deal. So I sat down to see if there were any places close by that had any and Mẹ Viet Kitchen popped up. I was looking over the menu and thought about Door Dashing, but something told me this is probably one of those times I need to skip DD and drive over there. Let me tell you what...It was the wisest decision I could have ever made. I don't think I have ever met anyone in the restaurant industry so eager to explain what everything was and so happy to help me decide what to order than Nick. He was so helpful and such a delight to be around. I ended up with the chicken ramen and summer rolls. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back for their Pho. I highly recommend that everyone go visit Nick and try some amazing food! I don't think you will be disappointed 🙂

So I've been beating the streets in Gastonia for over two years now and have eaten all over CLT. How did I not know this place was here. I was thinking about the next time I ate here before I finished my first meal. Im kinda hungry now just thinking about it. The PHO was awesome, portions great and the prices awesome. Very authentic and very delicious. You have to get the summer roll with pork. Update I go to this place quite often whenever I get a chance and I've got something going on in Gastonia. It's my favorite food spot in Charlotte. The food is so delicious and their broth isn't like anything I've had anywhere else. The last couple of times I've been I've been getting ramen but I'm still getting that broth. The staff is so extremely friendly. I got there kind of late so they were getting ready to close up and I spoke with Nick a while about the food scene between Charleston and Charlotte. You can tell he really cares about the food you can tell they really all care about the food and it shows. I hope I have business in Gastonia soon that gives me an excuse to come back.

This review comes after going to this place with the purpose of professionally reviewing the quality, service, freshness, and taste of the food and this restaurant overall. Order: Grilled Chicken Bahn Mi and Taro Boba Milk Tea Frozen Price: $14.80 Method: Online Order/ Pick Up After picking up my order, and tried the boba tea, noticed that the boba pearls were very hard, were more like boba pebbles. Went inside where a young man, replaced the boba portion, and poured my own taro drink in a new glass. After trying it, again the boba were hard. They came to conclusion the batch was not good and made a new one. Told me it would be around 5 mins. After 13 mins the boba came out, mind you my drink has been sitting out for more than 15 mins, it's all melted, and they charge extra for frozen drinks...well, this young man does a third serving, and poured the same drink once again. And guess what? The boba was still hard, it was even worse than the first batch. They did not offered a new drink or another option or money back. It's a huge mistake coming from a place that it's compared to food made by your mom, cause my mother would never served me such a bad drink 3 times. The Bahn Mi had a good taste, the meat was dry, and the baguette was hard to chew on, but the fresh veggies and seasoning was very delicious. Overall, they have the potential to become a great vietnamese restaurant, but need to work on how to solve this type of issues when they arise, because people don't have fluctuation when paying the prices of the food you're offering, so your food quality must be on point every time, living up to your prices and offers. I don't think I would go back, or recommend this place but hopefully they can work it out so they can stay...

I had went inside and ordered over $60 worth of food. I usually do not have issues with getting all of my items so when I got home to see I was not missing one but TWO meal items totaling about $13 , I was extremely disappointed. I called them to inform them of the mistake and that I was returning to the restaurant to get the rest of my order. After arriving at the restaurant the employees gave extreme push back about whether or not my items were packed in the original bag. The items in question were a kids meal shrimp and rice. I was told all extra items were placed in existing containers with the same items so essentially I was being told that the 7 shrimp I went home with were for two meals??? This went on a few times before I asked for a manager. And while the manager did apologize for the situation their tone was accusatory as if it’s my fault the employees charged me for food they did not give me, I would highly recommend checking your food before you leave and to NOT order on doordash or Uber eats because if your order is wrong they will fight with you instead of correcting it. Moving forward I will ask them not to tie my bag before leaving and I will be checking my food at the counter regardless if there are people behind me because of my experience today. I guess good customer service is a thing...

I love banh mi sandiches. Always a perfect balance. Ill describe how a banh mi should taste, headcheese should be noticeable along with the slight crunch of the pickled carrots & veggies and soothing proteins that all just melts with every chew into a garden of bliss. This one here that I ordered is the total opposite, so bad one would think they're getting over on people. It tasted like they wanted the headcheese to taste like tuna and mayo. Protein was there but had no distinct taste. I taste added fish sauce in there that stood out but so far away that it didnt want to be a part of the sandwich and oh man, the pickled carrots & veggies and even the cilantro had no flavor, not a bit of pickled taste. Then the worst part, the jalapeños is like a mask to cover what a mess this sandwich is. I think the owner should take a ride to charlotte and try out the traditional banh mi sandwich from either crispy banh mi or banh mi brothers to take some cooking lessons. The soursop boba tea tasted like regular thai tea overloaded with so much sugar & sweets that i thought i was on a verge of having diabetes. Like wifey said, fool me once shame on you. Total cost $19 including $2 tip....
