I vacation in Gatlinburg several times every year and a couple years ago during the Craftsman Fair I decided to treat myself to a carved bear from Jake & Angie. Then the following year I bought another one from them at the Craftsman Fair and and which time I had an idea for a 3rd carved bear from them. Jake and I exchanged cell numbers so I could give him the dimensions I wanted. I texted him days after returning home and he texted me back a question he had then several weeks later I reached out to check on the status and nothing from him.    Read moreI drove by and decided to stop and check out the bear sculptures. They were all displayed outside. Many of them looked alike. I didn't check on the prices. They were too big for what I would consider buying. I like how I was about to see the work shop area. It gave me an idea of the material and work involved in making one of the sculptures. The bears and raccoons are cute but I prefer the round, chubby look ... like babies. There was no one outside when I was there, but I was ok with that since I wasn't buying anything.    Read moreWe stopped my with my son and asked if they were chainsaw carving anytime soon and Jake said he could make him something. He took a small block of wood and made him a small bear head. It was amazing how fast he was with that. He is definately talented. We talked to him about his craft and other art in the area. He truly loves what he does and it shows. Its amazing to see what can be done with a chainsaw. He carves on the side of the road near their shed. Stop by and look around its cool.
