The A/C at bottom level heating at highest thing while it's off from the unit. the emergency maintenance guy didn't show up until the morning. First, I came from a long drive to enjoy the view at the cabins which we really did. But, the problem was when we enter the cabin bottom level it was warm while the top was cold. I didn't pay attention because I was tired and I went to sleep. Tomorrow morning the bedroom was so hot which wakes me and my wife up to see what's going on because we were sweating. When I went to the AUnit I got shocked because the A/C was in the OFF mode And the thermostat reading 85 I turned that to the cooled and I opened the doors to cool the room temperature. Then the room start cooling. I saw that everything works well. So, I didn't complain or call them. I slept the night after which is last night for me the weather outside was around 50 I neither want the cooled nor the heat because the weather was a little bit chilly outside so I did turned that off the A/C start heating as crazy the temperature at the bottom was so hot I called the hotline that they sent it to me for emergency heat or cooling or service problems as they said within their phone from the girl that responded seems that she don't know anything about the rules anything I asked her she put me on hold and reanswering me. I told her about my satiation 11:55 PM Oct 11, 2016, and she said that the maintenance guy will come to me soon. I start waiting until it comes 12:30 AM the I called her again and I asked her where the guy she told me that he went home!!! I complained how I'm gonna sleep tonight she said I don't know. Then she put me on hold after that she told me if I want to report them again I said yeah please do she did take my information as same as what she did at the first time then I closed the line. 15 minutes later I called her and she responded that they told her close the breaker. I said why you didn't tell me that do I have to call you she said I don't work with them, sorry I said to her give their number she said I can't you have to go throw me. Then I told her to let me know where is the breaker then she also don't know But she said wait for them until morning to help you. I had to take the below and go to the upper level to sleep very well. I received a call from them at 7 AM that they are sorry and they want to send the maintenance guy I told her that I'm going to check out and talk to them she said ok so we will send him after you check out. I called her and complained about what happened with me at night was not good especially that I'm going to drive back home. She starts explaining that I suppose to put the A/C off I told her that was my problem I did put it off and the heat increases. She didn't want to understand I told her that everything been recording and I'm gonna complain and sue them. 1 minute later she called me and say that the maintenance guy in the unit and said everything works well. I told her to let the guy wait there because am gonna go back to see by myself. I went to the cabin and the guy was waiting for me then he starts showing me the upper-level A/c I told him that the problem is downstairs he told me that she reported the upper level. I went downstairs and he told me that when he first came downstairs the A/C was 91 degree and he told me that I should not turn the A/C off. I should put the A/C either cool or heat !! Then I asked him does this unit have a problem or not this is the question. He didn't want to answer he said it probably damage and we have to let the specialist look to it to see what's going on. Then after I go the girl that responsible for that called me again and told me that it's my fault to put the A/C at the incorrect choice. I told her that your unit is damaged and she trying to convince me that it's not their fault again and again until I stopped her and told her that she repeated that many times then she said I will see the unit if it damage or not. We were a family group of 20 adults (no kids). We stayed in this cabin/lodge about a month after construction was completed on it. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend it. With some minor modifications this facility could go from 4 stars to 5 stars.
I'll start with the POSITIVES: Huge, clean & spacious. Great floor plan! Location, location, location. In between Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg & park entrance. Perfect. Plenty of tables & seating for meals and games. Wifi worked well. Parking was plentiful and convenient for loading and unloading. Perfect. Owner provided pictures & description were 100% accurate and honest.
NEGATIVES: No view (property description was honest and said woods view, but its still a negative) Units near this cabin are still under construction. Not the best atmosphere. No gas grills and only one oven. Try cooking for 20 people (or more) with one oven and no gas grills. It is NOT easy. Charcoal grilling for most meals is not practical. We made several runs to the store just for charcoal.
The advertised check in time is 4 PM. We checked the rental calendar and noticed nobody was renting the cabin 2 1/2 days before we arrived. When we requested a 2 PM arrival for a few people in our group we were told it would be an additional $200!!! We had paid $7K+ for a 5 night rental and being "nickel and dimed" like this left us with a bad taste. We checked in at 4 PM. Overall, the positives outweighed the negatives and I would recommend this property. With some minor adjustments and some common sense in handling reasonable requests, this could be a 5...
Read moreI am a single mom of 3 and usually can't afford to take my kids on vacation. This year I saved and went without and decided to take them to a cabin and spend spring break in Gatlinburg. Kids are excited and happy to be on vacation. Well unfortunately 3 days into our vacation I just received a call explaining that we had to leave because their are new owners that just purchased this cabin and the rental company that they are now using decided to book guest in the cabin I am renting. The new rental company is Smokie Cabin rentals. They have VIP guest that they need to get into the cabin that I rented in early February. Needless to say my kids are Upset and I am crushed because this was supposed to be special for our little family. I will never book thru Smokie mountain cabin rentals because you pretty much said that my kids and I don't matter. That we are not as important as your VIP guest and the normal little guy doesn't matter. You should have honored the booked rentals from the previous owners plain and simple or at least given notice and not in the middle of someone's vacation. It was the right thing to do. And you didn't do the right thing ......You should be ashamed of yourselves as well as the new owners. Evidently the almighty dollar is more important than...
