If you are in the Gaylord area, this place is always worth stopping by. You can see the Elk behind the Elk's lodge, or you can go around the corner and there is a gate on the city property that you can drive in and sometimes get up even closer to the Elk. This is a must see spot in Gaylord. If you have never seen an elk in the wild, you need to stop here. You can also get information at the Chamber in Gaylord on where you can go to spot some of these Elk in the wild, but as with any in the wild animal viewing, you might not see them. Warning: Unlike a zoo, the enclosure here is very large, so you are not guaranteed to see wildlife; the animals are often in the valleys or the far side of the enclosure. Located next to the Call of the Wild Museum, the City Elk Park offers visitors to the city a glimpse up close into nature. A great time to come is in the Fall, when males are looking for a mate.
