I don't know who said this place is always fast, because every time I go there it takes over an hour or more with 15-20 people ahead of me. I have lived in Gaylord for over 15 years so again I can state as a fact, the severe lack of speed and efficiency of this branch. I have driven to Grayling before so I wouldn't have to wait in a line when I walked into Gaylord SOS and there were 30+ people ahead of me. Grayling SOS, every time I have used them in the past and as was the case the last time, I was either the next in line if not the first. And you know Gaylord SOS also gets frustrating because when you have to wait for such a long time, only tow people working the counter yet there is a "manager" person or whoever that is there but just goes back and forth there doing whatever. I wouldn't expect them to work the counter all the time, but you'd think they could at least step in and help out while the branch is super packed. I try to use the online SOS but was forced to go in again this year when what I needed kept getting messed up online. All I can say is Boo to...
Read moreIf there is the branch of the year award for a government office the Gaylord SOS deserves this hands down. I'm 61 so been to a few and quite a few times over the years.
I recently bought a used truck and had to transfer title and register it. I dreaded the SOS visit so much I delayed and delayed and delayed. Finally after 6 weeks I maned up and went in.
First, got there late at 4:30PM. Second, didn't know I needed an appointment but she took me anyway. As she efficiently and quickly went through the process I started looking around. Very clean office and the rest of the staff were very friendly and competent as well. Couldn't beleive it was a Government office. My Dr's admin staff are way worse.
Hat's off to whomever runs the office. You have surrounded yourself with a very competent and friendly staff. I mean it was so odd it was like the gas station scene in Back To the Future when he realized he wasn't it current time. lol! GREAT JOB TEAM and thanks for the quick in...
Read moreaccording to the web site, you do not have to make an appointment but you may have to wait. but that's not what the gaylord branch wants, if you do not make an appointment and walk in you will hear about it, very rudly, the whole time your there. the lady was very rude. was so worried about me not making an appointment she gave me the wrong paperwork. they act like we should know everything and all the procedures, and have no problem making people make 2 or 3 trips in. you can not rely on google or the state web site to give you accurate information because as soon as you get there they will tell you its wrong and you do not have what you need. my last 3 trips into the gaylord office have not been...
