Timberly Motel — Hotel in Gaylord

Went to this Motel because it looked nice from the outside. I wish we would have paid the extra $30 for the jacuzzi suite at the American Inn across the road.

The place was falling apart, the staff was half and half friendly and very rude, and not anywhere near worth the money. I've seen cleaner motels for WAY cheaper in the developing world.

Room smelled very smokey. This was our bad, and we should have checked it before paying. We soaked everything with air freshener, which seemed to help.

bad paint job in the bathroom, plus many parts of the bathroom seemed like they were falling apart. Ceiling and floor looked like they needed to be redone. There were holes in the sofa, and many cigarette burns and holes in the bedsheets. I couldn't really tell if they had cleaned it or not.

Air conditioner worked, but the window wouldn't shut. The handle was missing, and the screen door wouldn't really close adequately either.

Called for the wifi password, and when I said "Hold on a second" to find a pen and paper, the hotel receptionist hung up on me. Very rude. I called 4 times, and eventually gave up calling and walked over to ask them in person at the front desk.

Breakfast was coffee and one small donut from the dollar store across the street.

Also, $6 tax is a bit high for a $40 room.

The clerk attempted charge more than price quoted online for starters. Woke up following morning and was asked approximately 5 times.."are you leaving", first time starting 31/2 hours before checkout . Room was for the price very nice..clean and well maintained. As just moving to area I inquired about potential extended stay rates and told yes sometimes but none available, maybe few days from then, and if I come back tonight he give me room for $40. I did end up returning that night and informed him I would take another night at the offered discounted rate and needed wait only maybe half hour for bank transfer and was making sure a room was still available. His response , though office neon sign was lit as well as roadside "OPEN" , that "No I cannot". I asked why and told me the 20-30 min wait would " disturb his sleep". All could think was you disrespectful "wanna" be arrogant pompous asswipe..how bout you stop trying jack your prices up at check in, harassing guests if they are leaving hours before checkout, turn off your Open / Vacancy signs and go sleep / dream about curry and rice!!! Disgusted, there's no heat in bathroom, and there's a thick layer of mold over all 3 windows and the toilet is so close to the bathtub your basically sitting on the tub. The cabinet for the sink is rotting because the toilet leaks and when we tell them about they just nod n say ok and no they have not fixed it though we've been here for a couple months, and the some of the people that stay here are so rude yelling and slamming doors all night long it's just ride, the rooms at the one end are a little nicer I'm told but we've been in upstairs downstairs and in the middle and none of them are really nice but the few bigger rooms are more taken care of but since we've been in the "low class" rooms all the mold has given me sinus and breathing issues I've had to take care of the mold myself and the fidge doesn't work right it keeps things semi cold so choose your motel wisely I wouldn't stay here again as soon as I'm done here I'm...
