Absolutely insane. We went 2 years ago before somebody else took over and it was great. We came this next time on a Friday at 6 pm and reserved a lane for 1.5 hours that came out to $169 (including shoe rental) for 4 of us which is a little steep but ya know that’s the way of the world now. Ordered my son just a kids strawberry lemonade they gave him the specialty drink which is $6 a glass(even though they just refill it with lemonade) but will charge you $6 for that refill. We were having a good time noticed it wasn’t packed so we decided to get another hour. My husband and dad had 5 beers total which was $20 nothing crazy. Then I get the final receipt and it says $200 including the extra hour food and drinks thought that was perfect considering I had already paid $169 to reserve the lanes. No they had me pay an EXTRA $200 so the final bill came out to $369!! I don’t know about you but that is absolutely ridiculous for a Friday family night for 2.5 hours of bowling to almost be $400. Also nobody told us we would be charged $86 a hour for a holiday weekend price(the place was almost empty). Waitress was rude and condensing when we asked about the breakdown of price, and talked to my husband like he didn’t know anything Will absolutely never be returning! Please don’t bring your family here unless you want to be the ones paying to keep the lights on and the new “remodel” they are doing.

Absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. I was told that Mel's had a wide variety on their menu, and that the prices were good. When I walked in, we immediately entered the bar area where there were TVs on the walls playing different sports programs, and pool tables. I dropped by for lunch during the middle of the week. There was a field trip with kids at the bowling area, a family playing pool, and a few other couples in the bar seated in the booths eating lunch. The establishment was cool and comfortable. The area was clean. The menu is very diverse, and a bonus for me is that they serve breakfast all day long. Each of the dishes that are a Mel's speacilty has the "CJ" icon next to it. I ordered "The Dot", which I was told was the sandwich the owner's wife always ordered when she came in. A turkey, cheese, bacon, avacado, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on Texas toast sandwich. I ordered it with fries, although other sides are available. The drinks are served in to-go cups and refils are $1.50. The service was great, and while there was a lot going on, it was a peaceful lunch. I took pictures of the menu for your review. Mel's is accessible via Austin Avenue in Georgetown, TX.

Can’t give 5 stars cause the pricing is atrocious but I am going up from a one star. The staff that I met were all very great folks. The upgrades are a nice touch and looks good. But doesn’t match the premium pricing, honestly it would take a lot. I’d at least want some elbow room. But they’ve added a Groupon which made the price much more manageable. The food was very good as well as the 21+ drinks. Small portions for the price you’re paying but it seems to be the theme. I think I paid almost 5 bucks for a 24oz cup of Dr Pepper. The public balls are nice but still the cheap balls and kinda laughable as you throw it and you hear it thumping across the floor. Overall tho I do enjoy it but can never give 5 stars unless the price starts to reflect the experience. The staff and food are good as well as a good time. If you have unlimited money it’s a no brainer to go.

Update...somehow the hits just keep coming at Bowlero so moved down from 2 stars to 1. I hoped the issues last year were due to transition, but...alas I was wrong. Before I get into the negative, I will state there are SOME wonderful employees there that will make the experience better, so if you get one of those gems then you will probably give a better review. You will know them by the smile and willingness to engage and help. The other employees...well are the exact opposite. I can also vouch for the attitude and eye rolls other reviews mentioned. Training on customer service isn't a priority or isn't enforcement by management. Since the last post: Still issues with drinks, selection is lacking and it seems to be a new trend to serve beer in a warm glass. Also, you can order a bottle beer OR a tall draft...nothing in between. Food, hit and miss but I stopped trying anything new because it's all subpar. Better to just eat first or after. Prices going up for everything especially bowling. Agree with other comments, the hours for "specials" aren't that special. The staff can and will close your tab without your knowledge because they are ready to go home 2 hrs before closing time. The latest issue, I cannot pay for a league using a credit card, only cash or check. I can use a credit card for literally everything else in the building, but not a lump sum payment for a league commitment that will bring return revenue each week I bowl and drink. Does this make sense?

Posted about a year ago....This place was fun, had good beer options, friendly faces, fun atmosphere, (was) cleaner, and food pretty on point. Now, with new ownership, it seems like the focus is to lose customers on purpose. Won't fix machines, lost key management that were awesome, don't order food or drink properly(frequently out of menu options), understaffed, shouldn't we have music when bowling? (lack of atmosphere), when food is available it takes too long and is over cooked... I don't get the business strategy at a bowling alley when the bowlers and locals don't enjoy...

The bowling area attendant was too busy talking to his coworkers to let us know that he started our game before our reserved time. Then, even though he's the one who mentioned using bumpers for the children- and I accepted that request, I had to repeatedly ask him to actually use the bumpers for the children playing and then he put them on the wrong players- there were 2 adults and 2 children for reference. My mother's food arrived cold with old cold cheese on what's supposed to be a warm sandwich. The server threw away my half eaten plate of food while I was on my turn bowling. What makes matters worse is that she left actual empty plates on the table the entire night! No, she didn't suggest fixing the situation by the way. It took over 20 minutes just to get sauce to go with my food and my family's, literally just Ranch, honey mustard, and ketchup, even though she rushed the check over and I had to repeatedly ask for sauce and water multiple times! What's worse is that while she was clearly running thin (not sure if she was just busy, absent-minded, or new) her 3 other coworkers sat in the concession stand goofing off literally doing nothing but standing around and didn't help our server. Overall, my experience showed that the staff needs some serious management intervention. What a waste of over $100 just trying to enjoy a night out with my family. I would never visit this...
