I came here for genealogy research on my grandmother’s family and was so pleased with the large collection of information. There were books for both sides of her family, who lived out in the country and are extremely difficult to find information for, even on Ancestry, Family Search and other genealogy sites. The museum provides so much information that even today with so many resources at our fingertips, you just can’t find online. It was also fascinating to browse the displays and see what life was like in Barren County through the years! I could tell that a lot of hard work and dedication is put into running this museum. I can’t wait to go back and spend more time...

I have deep roots in Barren County, and love have wanted to visit, I finally got the chance today, and fell in love with the work that the dedicated volunteers have done.

Three full floors of the history in the area focusing on a great mix of through the centuries, decades, and years. I had my fluffy monster with me, so could not dig into the archives they hold in search of my ancestors, but I will be back to enjoy the holdings in the future.

I also picked up several books on the history, and the CD of the older newspapers. Nice to be able to be a "foreigner" in the area my ancestors were...

Originally as we were driving through, we were only looking for a place to use the restroom. We were very pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this place and left absolutely amazed at what we found. This place is amazing, filled with all sorts of incredible historical artifacts. A special shout-out to their military history section, if you are AT ALL interested in military history then this place is a MUST VISIT. I was astounded by the types of artifacts they had. The staff were kind and the place was free to visit! If you're coming through or live here, you need to visit...

Hands down one of the best historical collections for a region anywhere in the world. Kudos to Kay, the retired school teacher who has so lovingly and carefully overseen the collection by cataloguing everything, arranging thought provoking displays, and supplementing the displays with notebooks showing photos and additional details about the numerous interesting ideas. They even have an airplane - look close for it, though, the airplane is often missed because of the wide variety of interesting artifacts all around you!

Absolutely fantastic FREE museum (With donations highly encouraged - And rightly so!) with tons of history inside of it. There are two floors with displays in them, the first being a little bit older, but the second floor is where this place really shines. The layout and presentation are gorgeous. If you're driving through Glasgow and need a place to drop in for a few hours to walk, this is your destination.

This museum is truly one of the highlights of things people should see in Glasgow Kentucky. This magnificent museum was curated with some of the most well-preserved and immaculate displays of Kentucky history from prehistoric all the way up to modern times. It's really quite amazing and worth spending a few hours at!
