If you haven’t made your way to Khana KAFE in downtown Glasgow—tucked just off the square next to the Plaza Theatre—then you’re missing one of the most delightful food experiences in town. This little hidden gem is as humble as it is powerful, delivering some of the boldest, brightest, most flavorful dishes you’ll ever wrap a fork or spoon around.
Molly is the heart of the front. She’s your waitress, your hostess, your server—all in one. Warm, genuine, and full of light, she makes you feel like you’ve just walked into your favorite relative’s home. In the kitchen, her husband is the quiet powerhouse—commanding the stove like a captain steering the ship through a sea of spices, noodles, and savory broths. Together, they’re an unbeatable team.
Their menu brings traditional Asian comfort food to life—fried rice, pho, Tom Yum soup, spiced noodles, and generous plates of chicken, steak, or combo options, all loaded with depth and intention. Each dish is a flavor journey. From the very first bite, you’ll realize this place isn’t about glamour—it’s about honesty. Real food. Real flavor. Real people. And in that simplicity, it finds a kind of quiet greatness that’s rare.
The spice scale? Oh, it’s not just there—it’s an experience. You can keep it mild, just enough to lift the flavor. Or you can go full blast and let it roast you where you sit. But even then, the spice doesn’t bury the flavor—it elevates it. Enhances it. Turns every mouthful into a moment of wide-eyed appreciation.
The vibe? Calm and welcoming. Sunlight trickles through the front windows, casting a soft glow over the space. There’s a cozy holiness to it, like culture and comfort wrapped in steam and spice. The seating may be a bit quirky, and some chairs feel like you’re balancing on a frame—but it adds to the character. Tables are spaced well, keeping things intimate but never cramped.
Parking on the street can be a pain, especially during busy hours, but there’s a lot just across the way that makes the whole thing a little easier.
Don’t just skip this—step in and taste the difference tradition and heart can make.

Read moreI just got home from eating there and wanted to share my experience.
The first thing I noticed was the restaurant was very clean. I was looking for a specific dish called Pho (pronounced fu). Pho is an Asian vermicelli noodle dish with fresh broth noodles and meat in a huge bowl. A plate of fresh bean sprouts, fresh basil, parsley or cilantro and lime to add to the dish. I asked for sriracha hot sauce to kick it up a bit.
This dish if done right is heaven in a bowl. Kanha Cafe does it exceptionally well. The plate spices were out of the garden fresh, noodles had a little bite to them and cooked perfect beef was very tender and shrimp tender. I couldn't ask for anything better and I've ate a lot of Pho.
The owner was very nice. I saw on the board they had fresh made carrot cake. The Pho made me very full but I bought a piece to go something I rarely do but I couldn't resist after such a delicious meal.
Conclusion: I will be frequenting this restaurant and exploring the menu. I definitely want to try the fried rice next. If your looking for Asian cuisine in the Glasgow area this is the only place to consider. The food is fantastic, plentiful and a decent price. What more can...
Read moreWe stopped here just as the restaurant opened for lunch after our tour of Mammoth Cave. It was a nice meal where the food was fresh as we were the first people to dine in for the day. The space was intimate. Our server was very friendly. We ordered Pho Soup, Pad Thai, Breaded Mushrooms, Egg Rolls, Pot Stickers, Tom Yum Noodle Soup, and Stir-Fried with Noodle. In the future, we'd love to see a menu with pictures which would make it easier to make a decision when ordering food. We'd also love to see the restaurant renovate the space to be authentically Asian as it would really add a nice cultural touch of diversity. If you have little ones that haven't acquired an expansive palate, fear not, this restaurant also has an American Dish Menu that will charm your family's little ones -- and all at...
