Valentines day (today) we decided to dine at Shoguns. According to the text they sent out, Facebook and their website they were having a valentine's day special, dinner for 2 plus free lava cake dessert for 29.99. So when we first arrive a waiter named Stephen was yelling at another waitress, anyway a few minutes later he storms out and we finally get seated. Our waitress who was the one who had been into it with Stephen (not to mention she had a horrible attitude) came to get our drink orders, she told us that they were doing happy hour all day and told us what drinks were included in the $4 cocktails and we chose the ones we wanted from that list. 5 or 10 minutes later she came back for our orders, we asked her what was included with the valentines day special, she told us and informed us they were out of lava cake but they could substitute cheesecake for that instead (The valentines special was steak, chicken and shrimp dinner for 2 for 29.99 with free dessert) anyways we told her we wanted the valentines special she then told us to choose either steak and chicken, chicken and shrimp or shrimp and steak, so we chose the steak and shrimp, right after the food came out Stephen stormed back in and the two exchanged words again before once again storming out. Around the time we were finished the waitress came back over to see if we were ready for cheesecake, we said yes and she brought out the dessert and tickets. I noticed that we had been overcharged for the meal (35.00 instead of 29.99 and had forgotten to apply the happy hour price to one of our drinks so it showed $6), before I could get her attention the fire alarm started blaring and a hostess yelled at us to get out. So we walked out the front door and stood on the sidewalk waiting for the fire trucks. The whole time we are out there absolutely no one, not the manager, or even a member of management said one word to us or apologized (apparently guys in the kitchen were messing around and threw something that hit the fire alarm.) After being outside for awhile the waitress came up and said that she will just go ahead and take our money for our meal so I pointed out the mistake on our ticket, she said the because we choose 2 items instead of getting the 3 that it voided the special. I said we told you from the beginning that we wanted the Valentines day special and that she was the one who told us we had to pick 2. She rolled her eyes and opened up her note pad and said well that's not what I wrote down so you dont get the special price. So I said just because you wrote it down wrong and got it wrong doesnt mean that it's our fault and technically because of the mistake we got less food. She said she wasnt going to change it. I started to bring up the $2 over charge on the drink but before finishing she grabbed my ticket and card out of my hand and walked back into the building about 3 minutes later the fire department got the alarm shut off and we went back inside with the intention of finishing our dessert, before we could sit down the waitress came and grabbed them off the table and took them away. Then came back out with my card and receipt (of course she didnt correct any mistakes on the ticket) The manager is standing up front with another lady in management neither of them have even acknowledged us still or the fact that our dining experience was cut short and we were forced to stand outside, ruining our valentines day dinner all because their staff was goofing off in the kitchen throwing things. Not even so much as an "I'm sorry" or "are you guys okay" absolutely nothing was said. The display of what Shoguns allows to be acceptable is absolutely unacceptable practices. But based on what happened there tonight I highly doubt that management cares at all. Pathetic and all around bad experience. Attached is the receipt as proof.

Drink specials and made-to-order food. Quaint and clean (usually-my table had some funk on it). If you want/need some teppanyaki, this is the place in THIS zip code to be certain...massive portions Bowl of ramen tonight after snow on the ground this morning :^) but was disappointed that there wasn't much ramen broth - although it tasted good enough, waaaaay too many noodles (spaghetti noodles! C'MON👎🏾) and the egg, puhlease....overcooked...not ordering again... Will visit again- wife and child were pleased w their choices, but i expected more and was disappointed this visit..

The food was absolutely disgusting. I got food poisoning from eating here. Service was eh, not horrible but not great. I was more upset about the food than the waiter. The food looked and tasted like it has been cooked/heated up multiple times, like leftovers. Will never be back here. We didn’t complain because we drove an hour to eat here. I just put tons of yum yum on it and tried to eat it. 🤮 food was cold barely warm in certain pieces. We were wanting to go to yomato but they were closed. That’s the only reason we went here but we should have just ate local.

I’m upset primarily for one reason, but given today’s circumstances, let me list the things I looked past first.

The restaurant was hot. No AC when it was 90 degrees outside. Our server took 10 minutes to get to us when they were not busy. The server, who was apparently the manager, was not friendly, got all of our orders wrong, and was not professional when it came to dealing with food.

He didn’t add a lemon to a water when I asked, not a big deal. Gave us egg rolls instead of spring rolls, my bento box was slathered in teriyaki sauce on one side so it got all on my hands. When I needed a refill, he came over with another glass of water and poured it into mine and left me with both. He also gave us a pitcher of yum-yum sauce to use, but when another table needed it, he would take the pitcher off our table and hand it to them, and that’s weird and gross.

Now the reason I’m posting this anyway is because we bought three lunch bento boxes at 12:30 pm on a Saturday. The menu in house, and online both say lunch bento boxes are $14. They charged us $22 per each bento box as a dinner bento box. We were told they do not serve lunch bento boxes on the weekends anymore. Nowhere did it say that on their menu.

When we told the lady at the register this, she sighed and shook her head showing that she is well aware he isn’t doing his job the way he should. They still charged us 22 per bento instead of the 14, and we are now left to dispute each transaction on our own. He was unwilling to listen despite that we were calm and kind, and he didn’t care to force an unposted policy change on us. We should have paid around $42 before tax. Instead, we had to pay $66.

It’s a small thing, but it’s not right that he tells me I am wrong and to look online and it is not there. Instead of investigating it and trying to resolve the issue, he tells me I am wrong.

I called them after we left, explaining again that this was an issue we would like to have resolved, and I told him it does not say that online. So he said to “come get your dessert” since I said that was part of the dinner bento we didn’t ask for, but we just wanted reimbursement for the upcharge. I told him we will have to then dispute the transactions with our banks if he can’t do something, and he hung up on me.

Don’t come here and waste your time and money on either being upcharged, given gross utensils/items, or sitting in an uncomfortable and slow atmosphere. The manager, this man who stole our money with no real proof to offer why, does not care about you, his job, or whether he is doing what’s right. You don’t have to like your customers, but you should at least respectfully investigate when there is an issue. The food can be good, but it’s...

My boyfriend and I go to Shogun's in Glasgow at least twice a month and USUALLY have a wonderful experience with great sushi. We decided to bring my parents in for their first time last night (3/1/2020) because we love it so much. We arrived around 6:20 pm. We have had to wait a few minutes to be seated in the past, which is no big deal, so we expected it, but we (and other customers) waited about 10 minutes at the door before the hostess even appeared. We were seated to a dirty table right away since there were plenty of open bistro tables, just not well cleaned. Then, it took another 15 minutes to see our waitress for a drink order- 15 minutes to get our drinks. More waiting for our dinner order to be taken... I received 1 of my 3 ordered sushi rolls before the appetizers came out- not sure why? My mom then got her side salad- not sure why, again. Appetizers came. More sushi, then my mom's main course, then my dad's side salad, and finally my dad's main course came when we were all practically done- AFTER I had complained to the only helpful staff member I encountered. The main waitress (I wish I got her name) she finally brought our check and apologized for the order in which we received our food, but that she just quit. She went on and on about the drama between her and the other staff, which made us feel super uncomfortable. We had been there almost 90 minutes for what we thought would be a quick meal and we just wanted to leave.

I know this was just a rare incident, but it was so disappointing and uncomfortable. Five stars to the sushi chef and kitchen...
