EDIT: Dawn is a wonderful hairstylist, don’t get me wrong. The times she dyed my hair turned out beautiful and I got a handful of compliments when the color faded. The issue is the prices that I have to pay. The first time I went, I paid $357.70 for a light bleach to get a dark red color. She did tell me at the beginning that it would be around $300 but she added $50 for other services I never got. It was supposed to be a deal for a Brazilian blowout. I told her I’ll get it another time but she kept on reassuring me that she never gives these types of deals so she’ll add half to the appointment and I’ll pay the rest when I can. I’m pretty sure she forgot and now I prefer my $50 left.
When I came back around 4 months later for a new color, the price was originally $370 but she brought it down to $350. I wouldn’t have an issue with the amount of bleach but this time she didn’t mention the price till the end. In the beginning, we talked about my color but no price. In the middle, I asked for a price and she only replied with “You have enough” ... I'm a high schooler with a part-time job that barely gives me hours. Near the end, she introduced me to Afterpay, which splits up the bill into payments every 2 weeks. The issue: I’m not old enough. She gave me the false belief that I'd be able to pay her in small payments over 2 weeks. I only have $350 in my account so the original price made me panic. I told her I could pay half today and the other half two weeks from now when I get paid. She made a face and told me she needed the money now. Either call someone or pay $350, so I pay the amount and leave.
It’s hard to enjoy my new hair now, and I feel like box-dying it black to cover up my shame. At least send me back the $50 so I can buy a cheap prom dress. I love you, Dawn, but I’ll find...
Read moreDawn was friendly, attentive and really made certain that I was ok with everything she was doing & she would check the picture I had showed her at the start of the appointment. When I called I didn't think I would get one until next week sometime. Well.,.. fortunately for me her last appointment of the day cancelled and I got to get my hair done today. I absolutely freaking love it!!!!! Now I have a hairdresser and I won't go to anyone else because she knows what I like and we seemed to vibe, I would say it may as well been divine intervention that worked in our favor today because Dawn was counting on her client and I was hoping for a miracle to get my hair done if not today, then tomorrow, or the next. So... to the client who cancelled --thank you very, very much I felt very blessed today and Dawn made me feel very (be you tiful) again! Thank you so, so much Dawn I really love the care you put into...
Read moreWhere do I start ? This review is for that person who feels they are at their wits end with their hair journey. This is my story . I have naturally curly hair and for years I would get a relaxer done on just my roots to soften the curl because my hair is soooo thick. Anyway I stopped and just let my hair grow out for a long time (approx 2 years ) w/out doing ANYTHING to it !!! UNTIL I decided that I was going 2 trim my ends because they were straight and everything else was curly. Most difficult time ... and I messed it up because I did not realize the SHRINKAGE! My hair looked so short. Dawn Wells FIXED my hair and made me LOVE MY HAIR AGAIN !!!! She is HEAVEN SENT and knows what she is doing . A BRAZILLIAN BLOWOUT ? I had no idea. I appreciate my hair now and I can not wait to see what my hair will look like 6 months from now . Thank you Miss Dawn. ...
