I give this place 2 stars only bcuz the staff members were nice. Now onto the food.. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I brought my family here to enjoy lunch/dinner and it was such a disappointment.. The buffet was not worth the price whatsoever. The buffet wasn’t filled with fresh hot food. I swear almost all the food pans were empty if not low. The food was not hot and steamy, rather Luke warm and got cold by the time we sat down. I went to get a salad and the dressing containers were empty. I told the employee working the salad bar and she goes and grabs the huge bottles of dressing, pours them over the old dry containers and doesn’t get clean pans or ladles/spoons. The ranch had pieces of old lettuce floating in it, just disgusting… Anyway, we sat and waited for fried chicken, rolls, mashed, meatloaf and Omg the list goes on. By the time the fried chicken came out I had already tried to eat the old stale pizza and some old fries bcuz they didn’t have much of anything.. the employee mixing the mashed potatoes didn’t add enough liquid and I came across clumps of mashed that were still kind of powdery. Broccoli and cauliflower were really old, Mac and cheese was out, no bell peppers and onion mixture but they did have some fish, hush puppies and rice that looked decent but we don’t eat any of that. Now onto dessert. No chocolate fountain but that’s ok, they had a whole plate of brownies, some new slush drinks, self serve ice cream and a few slices of pie here and there and some cookies, the rest was wiped out. Oh and some jell-o, again a big disappointment.. we used to love GC that was our go to place when we all craved different foods but now, nope it’s just not the same. We will not be returning anytime soon.. I know weve had a few problems before and you never get a response and that’s probably what will happen this time. GC just really needs a lot of improvement and the prices they charge…. Food needs to be fresh, hot and ready for us...
Read moreSunday breakfast buffet was much better than I expected. The variety of items was phenomenal. I stuck with items that were just coming off the grill because I like my food hot. Also the a/c was cranked up and that tends to cool your food really fast. Masks were required for entering. Hand sanitizer and gloves were provided. I still would prefer going back to cafeteria style with workers putting the food on your plate. There were too many kids trying to plate their own food. Since many were shorter than the sneeze guard that presents a big problem. Everything I tried was really good. The ham melted in your mouth and the French toast was properly seasoned. Something I haven't found at any other restaurant. The "server" Thomas went beyond the usual service. He was very engaging, even giving us a tour before we searched for our food. It would have been nice to have flavored creamer and heated syrup and bigger plates. They were more like sandwich plates. In the past I thought they used trays and platters to cut down on how manly times you had to go up to get food. Even before the pandemic no one wanted to be crowded while you put food on your plate since that presents more chances to get jostled. They need to go back to the socially distanced seating. Tables were close enough together for people behind me to slide their chair into mine. I have a problem with the assigned tables for the servers since that keeps them from helping each other. It makes no sense to walk around with a full pot of coffee bypassing empty cups because that is not "your section". Also leaving dishes to pile up at other tables is unacceptable. I would try it again but maybe sit at a table against a wall far...
Read moreAugust 7, 2019 Update: The kitchen manager, David reached out to me directly to discuss my concerns in further detail. We went over the highlights in my review and David advised changes would be implemented immediately. It is evident Golden Corral values your complete satisfaction while dining in their restaurants as staff listen to and value your feedback. I applaud establishments that directly reach out to customers to discuss what went wrong and what they will do to improve the experience in the future; it is a gesture that shows "we care" about the experience you have when you spend your money with us. I would gladly dine at this location again with the expectation that provided feedback was swiftly implemented.
The establishment was filthy! Bathrooms looked and felt like they had not been cleaned in days! The dining area had food pieces and other debris scattered all about. Food quality was decent but nowhere near a 5-star. Pulled pork was dry and had the consistency of cardboard and the sesame and bourbon chicken tasted like deer meat! For desert, I stuck with only the soft serve ice cream and toppings as the baked goods tasted stale and pre-packaged. My meal with a soft drink came to just under $20 and in my opinion, the quality of the food and the price point are nowhere near equal. Add to the fact that the establishment was filthy and I would have no desire to return even if it was en-route to where I was going. The employees were friendly and working very hard as it was during a dinner rush so that warrants a...
