This tour deserves 5 star but I am giving it 4 just because of of the disgusting food served on board. I purchased a Groupon worth $50 which included the entry for two. Do check Groupon before making a direct purchase on their website. 1. Parking: There is a lot of parking space with gas station right in front of the location so if you are driving from far, you don't have to worry about finding the gas station. 2. Boarding: They start boarding the vessel 30 minutes before the departure but you can enter even at the last minute. If you are late you will miss the instructions which are important especially if this is your first time on a vessel sailing in ocean. Do take a med in case you feel sea sickness. 3. Vessel capacity: There is enough space in the vessel to accommodate everyone and you will end up moving from one end to another to look for whales. So don't worry about seating space. There are washrooms available on vessel. 4. Crew- The crew members are educated and super polite. They really made our tour pleasant with all their additional information and instructions. Love the crew. 5. Tour: we started at 1 pm and were back by 4 pm. It takes approximately 45 to sail to destination. Make sure that you check the weather before you schedule the ticket. For us it was a cloudy day so sea was rough than usual and it was gloomy. But It was a good experience. It got a bit cold and fortunately we had our jackets. Make sure you carry a jacket with you. 6. FOOD: Do not buy anything to eat in the vessel. Its obvious that they will charge 4-5 times the cost. Even then the food is total TRASH. I am not sure how the person selling this garbage continues to look into the mirror everyday after serving trash to his customers. They can surely replace that guy with a vending machine. We purchased mac and cheese and that was awful. I realized something is horribly wrong when i took my first bite. I felt like puking. So don't buy anything to eat on board. Instead bring something to eat so you will not only save money but can make sure that you are eating right. In case you still plan to buy have some cash since they don't take cards as a form of payment. Tour- Great Crew: Awesome. Don't forget to TIP them since they are doing an awesome job. Food- Horrible Overall experience- Good

Cape Ann did a nice job for their whale watching tour. The staff were knowledgable and friendly. The process for buying tickets was easy, and quick, and we picked up tickets at the gift shop when we arrived. Plenty of parking for the tour. The boat and gift shop were handicap accessible but not the bathroom. Theres 4 clean bathrooms on the boat, but Someone would have to get out of their wheelchair and walk over a lip to get into the bathroom. Also the toilets were higher than usual, having to stand on your tippy toes to sit on the throne. There were two Bathroom port o potties in parking lot, also not wheelchair accessible. Indoor covered seating as well as outdoor - along side front and back and upper deck seating. There was hot food inside for sale, cash only, and a bar serving alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. The water was a bit choppy on 9/10/24 but we knew that going in and took some dramamine before hand. We rode out far north, almost parallel to hampton beach, it was about a 4 ish (close to 5 hour)hour boat ride. The ride was beautiful and saw many lighthouses, islands, and houses. We saw dolphins first, then some people saw a shark, then we saw humpback whales. They made many attempts for everyone to see the whales. We only had two complaints, and one was more of a preference. The speaker in the back of the boat didnt work, so we couldnt hear anything they were saying. Second complaint…We thought they were borderline harassing the whales, just so they could get to the whales quick enough for us to see them. We were almost competing with another boat, to see who could get to them the fastest, and therefore, not being good to the wildlife in the process. But it was a great ride, and the staff were friendly. They definitely try to make sure you see whales and dolphins or you get a free ticket to come back a different day, as its outside of their control. The tour was definitely worth the money.

Welcoming crew, boat was comfortable but very crowded! Gorgeous weather day, 80’s while waiting onshore to board- ABSOLUTELY FREEZING once the boat took speed!! 28 miles out before we spotted whales so roughly 1hr 45 minutes of harsh icy air!! Bring a blanket and not on the side of the boat or you will be wet and cold! The whale watching was incredible and the naturalist knowledgeable. Our only real deal breaker making us never want to go again- it’s waaayyyyy to long of a boat ride for a very short time with the whales! Others may have a different experience on less crowded boats or even warmer days. But it was standing room only on the way back in or sit outside and freeze again. Side note- our favorite crew member was the hard working young blond that ran back all over the ship with a bottle and paper towels cleaning up vomit. **Take note, even on “calm” seas you are on a boat far off shore. If you’re prone to motion sickness or even not sure -take medicine!! I am from Florida and I’m the water allll the time, I still took Dramamine and am so head I did! It’s a VERY long ride there and back and you don’t want to be miserable!

What a treat! The crew - well...*most* of the crew. The snack bar dude is a bit of a toolbag - really makes the whole voyage a blast. - check Groupon for killer deals - good idea to take Dramamine etc beforehand, and also prepare yourself if you're prone to sympathy vomit. Forward motion of the boat is just fine, but holy cow the side-to-side rocking when the boat stops for whale observation is *brutal* - believe them when they say to bring layers!! bring way more than you expect to need. While it was 50-60° when we got on the boat (first week of June), it was sporadically raining and easily 40ish° or less out on the water. Friggin' COLD, kid! The hours&hours-long journey became really uncomfortable really quickly, driving us inside the cabin - with little room to distance yourself from vomitting ppl 😬- way sooner than I wanted. - be flexible with your time. crew will extend the journey if there's more cool stuff to be seen, or if you haven't seen enough. - bring cash for tips. *especially* for the person/saint whose apparent sole job is vomit patrol & clean-up

It was a fun experience. I'd recommend taking some medication if you're prone to motion sickness. There were a handful of people who were throwing up. (it probably happens all the time because the crews were very quick about cleaning up) One girl started throwing up and a guy who was watching the girl throwing up started throwing up and so on… It was like a chain reaction. There was also an old lady who said out loud “I'm trained to walk straight when I'm drunk but not for this” before hugging the trash bin. The gift shop where you check in does sell it for a dollar. If in doubt, just take it. We spent about 4 hours. They sell snacks and drinks (cash only) but you can bring your own (no alcohol is permitted). It can be a quite bit of a waiting game. Although we saw some dolphins, mola mola, and humpback whale at the end, anxiety builds up while you are waiting. It gets cold when they are chasing whales. Bring some hoodies or waterproof jackets. Overall, it was fun and we would recommend it to anyone who is in the area!!

The experience was fun, but they could improve on allowing everyone to look at the whales. Went yesterday (8/3), and though I got a couple of good pictures, I missed a lot because the captain never turned the boat for others to see. The whales were ALWAYS at 1:00, so passengers on the left side of the boat were not able to see too much. A Calf was logging, and after 15 mins, the boat finally turned for others to see, but they didn't have a long look like the other side of the boat. Yes, the whales go whenever they want, but they were literally popping up on one side of the boat more than the other, and it was not taken into consideration that others struggled to see. I went whale watching in Iceland, and the captain of that boat always made sure everyone could see the whales. There was also a professional photographer on board so people could request pics of the trip for free to be emailed to them. Cape Anne should consider this. Giving 4 stars because Jessica was great. Otherwise, I wouldn't.
