Still seems to have inventory management problems -- items sold out or not replenished. Which is frustrating, because they have consistently lower prices than the other supermarket chains in town. They need to push their distributors to keep on top of sales velocity: how quickly specific products sell -- or sell out -- and get them timely restocked. Otherwise they are losing out on sales, and their customers will go to their competitors to get the items not timely restocked. The inventory management problems seem to be most noticeable with items supplied by third party vendors. Corporate management needs to help management at individual stores ride herd on vendors to make sure items do not remain sold out. I've gotten conflicting reports as to whether inventory management is done by individual store management or by corporate headquarters. Totally out of powder dishwasher detergent -- all brands -- and plain ocello sponges today. 2025-04-24: This is still a problem. I hope that the board of directors doesn't blunder itself into another 2014. Inventory management problems still exist. Items that are similar sounding variants of a product are often not restocked properly when they sell out. Two examples: Arizona Green Tea 128oz jugs. There are 4 variants: regular, diet, decaf, and blueberry. They seem to rotate these week by week, rather than keeping enough of each on the shelves to avoid being sold out for more than one day. That means that regular green tea, for example, will only appear on the shelves once every few weeks. When they sell out, customers who want that specific product are out of luck. If they buy a few weeks' worth when it's in stock again, that only narrows the brief time that the product is available. Market Basket is losing sales on those products. Do the people responsible for ordering this family of products not understand that the products are not identical, snd not interchangeable? Outshine mango popsicles. There are 2 variants: regular, and mango with a spicy Tajin seasoning. These are definitely not interchangeable. Rotating restocking of these 2 distinct products satisfies no one. Customers who want one of the 2 variants are out of luck half the time. Again, Market Basket is losing sales by not recognizing that these are distinct products snd that they have customers who will steadily buy one of the variants but...
Read moreThis has to be the worst MB I have ever been to next to Danvers for the grill. Some of the staff at the grill are rude, give you an annoyed look, and skip your place number, and they just shove you off as if it didn't matter. Some don't speak or understand clear English like the grill manager, so communication is often difficult. This place doesn't offer one-time plastic bags, so if it's raining as it often does in the northeast, good luck. The reusable bags don't last that long and are made cheap. They are disgusting to reuse and often develop black mold when you get leaky packages or condensation from cold food and a smell to them that could be harmful to your health and food. Did you know that it often costs more to make a paper bag than a plastic one? Do you think that it's more nature friendly because it's made of paper? Think again. Plastic can be recycled if done properly, and everyone pitched in. Remember the madness with paper straws? No one likes them because they got wet like a noodle and just suck. Everyone tell this WOKE generation to stop it. Stop trying to change the world in meaningless ways. They have no idea what's really going on in the world and that it's a lot worse than just a few plastic bags. There is nothing no one can do about it either. This is not a good feeble start. Most probably depend on food delivery services for fast and sometimes unhealthy food so they don't go shopping. I rarely see any in these...
Read moreALWAYS ISSUES WITH THIS STORE, ONE OF THE WORST MANAGEMENT TEAMS....WORM INFESTED SEAFOOD, SALE ITEMS RINGING UP AT REGULAR PRICES, OVERPRICED HAMBURGER BECAUSE ONLY AVAILABLE IN PRE-MADE PATTIES, ITEMS THAT HAVE SAFETY SEALS BROKEN, 12 PACKS WITH DAMAGED CANS .... AND MICHELLE, MY GOD HOW COULD A CASHIER BE SO INCOMPETENT AND STILL HAVE A JOB?? Keeping in mind that Market Basket engages a company that generates false positive reviews here on google, this MB is very poorly managed, never enough cashiers. On a Thursday at 4:30 It took such an unreasonable time to get through the checkout that two people in front of me just walked out. All frozen foods had to be taken back because they were literally melting. Instead of having an employee return peoples frozen food and dealing with abandoned shopping carts from people walking out why didn't they...
