Customer beware with Roger and Creekside Jewelers.
Normally I don't write reviews, and I have never written a poor one until now, but my experience with Roger at Creekside Jewelers was so terrible I feel compelled to warn others. He agreed to make a custom belt buckle for me in April of 2017. To make a very, very long story short, I did not receive the completed piece until October of 2017. Throughout the 5 months of waiting, Roger was disinterested in communication (even after the situation was unacceptable due to his unprofessionalism), demonstrated dishonesty, and over-promised what his shop was capable of doing. Roger always had an excuse for the next delay in the work. Reasons for the 5 month delay included:
-School of Mines Graduation -Mother's Day -Hail storm -Father's Day -Looking for a new inlay jeweler -Working with a new inlay jeweler
Finally, after 4 months the finished buckle arrived. However, the inlay work was terrible. The stone used was cheap, didn't even completely fill-in the inlay, and did not use metal spacers leaving gaps between the stones. It looked awful. To top it off, the belt loop was cut for 1.25 inch width belt, despite the design being for a 1.5 inch. Roger blamed his new inlay jeweler, as well as his in-house jeweler for the belt loop, and told me he would fix it. Over the next month I had to repeatedly contact him to get status updates and finally word that the new buckle arrived. A fitting ending to working with Roger was upon pickup of the final buckle, he wouldn't even come up to the counter from his desk to thank me for my business, or my patience, or to apologize for his terrible service.
I see another customer recently wrote a review describing a very similar type experience working with Roger. Guess his terrible customer service isn't just with me. ...

Upon my return to pick it up and examining it while I was being rung up, I noticed the "11" was off kilter and misaligned. I pointed it out to Roger, who said it would be rectified.
OK, fine.
When I went back the second time to retrieve my watch (and again examining it), I noticed the "11" had been replaced with numerals not native to the watch and manufacturer.
OK, not fine.
They said they would rectify it. I received a call the following week from them to say that they couldn't fix it and I had to send it in to the manufacturer and pay for a replacement watch face.
When I went to pick up my watch, I told Roger I was disappointed and, shockingly, he squared around to me and in a heated, hostile voice told me it was my fault for dropping the watch. WOW. And there were other customers there.
Astonished, I had to point out to him that either there's no quality control in workmanship before handing a repair back to customers or they just don't care.
Neither is good and both are hubris, and I called him out for addressing a customer in the manner that he did with me — also telling him that might be part of his issues and indicative of his work.
We have been going to Roger for 12 years, mostly for watch batteries and cleaning, but we won't be going back now, sad to say, as we like to support local businesses.
We'll go a couple blocks...

From start to finish, the team helped us create something far more meaningful than just rings—they helped us craft lifelong symbols of our love and our story.
We knew we wanted something unique to us, and the moment we stepped into Creekside, we felt we were in the right hands. Our rings feature aquamarine stones locally sourced from Mount Antero, a place that holds deep significance for us—we actually hiked to the summit of Mount Antero and got engaged right at the top. Creekside helped us bring that memory to life in the most beautiful and personal way imaginable.
A huge thank you to Jeanine and Tina, who were both amazing throughout the entire process. Jeanine, in particular, went above and beyond—patiently guiding us through custom design options, and making sure every detail was perfect. Her passion and care made all the difference.
The rings turned out stunning, but even more than that, Creekside gave us an experience we’ll never forget. If you're looking for a jeweler who truly listens, deeply cares, and brings genuine craftsmanship to every piece—Creekside is the place.
We can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you again for...
