We just finished the Wayne County Geotrail and stopped by to get our coins, today. While we waited, we looked around - there was an event going on upstairs, though. Anyway, got our coins and went back to looking around. A few minutes later, the nice woman came back just to give our kids two small basketballs since they didnt get coins. We thought that was so sweet of her and she chatted with us a bit about the museum and the current car displays. She was so super nice, I had to leave a review.

Here now with Jeff and Jen who know so much about the area. They work at the museum and helped us and explained all the times and local history. Cute items to buy including t shirts, bbq sauce and books. Lots of local history here and fun to see as my grandfather was born and raised here until he was 22! Well maintained museum with lots of memorabilia. Free and worth the visit just please leave a donation so museums like this can continue

What a great place to soak in some history about the area. There are lots of amazing things. For example, I had no idea that German POWs were held in North Carolina and retained fond memories plus wrote back to friends in NC. Amazing history from African-American contributors in some show cases. I would like to see more exhibits honoring Black Americans and their courageous contributions.
