Ignition Music Garage — Attraction in Goshen

I used to like Ignition, but after an experience at Record Store Day, I’ll no longer be giving them by business or referring friends there. Instead of allowing fans to buy exclusive vinyls, they allow a known reseller (as verified by multiple customers who have dealt with him in the past) to purchase them, even as he’s taunting the fans in the store. This morning he had the audacity to tell my daughter that if he were to put back the album she was looking for, he would give it to her. A completely unnecessary, condescending thing said to an already heartbroken kid by a middle aged man. If he wasn’t there, my daughter may not have gotten the album she wanted and that’s fine. She woke up early, waited in line, and understood that it wasn’t quite early enough. But instead, she was spoken down to by a known reseller who was allowed to shop to flip records in an environment meant for fans. This is an awesome store with a very kind owner. i visited the other day and entered an area that I wasn’t supposed to without realizing. the owner didn’t say a word to me, just waited until i left and then put up a sign that i guess is normally up. he was also very helpful about some questions i had about record players. I really don’t know anything about them, but he was very patient and informative. Also he has a great selection of both used and new records; i bought both. He even has some super rare editions. I don’t know much about that stuff, but i overheard him telling another customer about a copy of a record he has; there are only like two or three other copies in the world🤯 i can’t imagine how much effort he puts into finding things like that. It’s sad that there are so few record stores around anymore but for those of us living in Michiana we’re fortunate to have Ignition - one of the best record stores around. I really love this place. They have a great selection of new vinyl and many genres as well. They also boast an impressive used vinyl and CD collection to shop through. They also sell some equipment. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a record store and the location downtown is convenient and brings good vibes to the area. Personally, I think this place is way more than just a record store. They have live music and other events. To me Ignition is an institution in the area and easily my favorite record store between...
