Ate here while visiting my father in Elkhart. I was very surprised to see an Indian restaurant in the Elkhart area, so we eagerly planned a visit to the lunch buffet. Upon showing up a note was up on the door saying the restaurant would not be open for lunch. It was a bit of a drive but we planned to call that evening for dinner to see if they'd be open the following day for lunch. I called and asked the person who answered if the lunch buffet would be open the next day and they said yes. So...we came in the next day and...although they were open, the lunch buffet which we were so looking forward to was not available. Since we were already there, we ordered a bunch of dishes which were all fantastic. I'd have rated a five star rating if it weren't for the fact that they weren't upfront about their buffet. I understand that some restaurants don't feel comfortable having their buffets up during the pandemic, but if you are honest about what is available people can make their own decision about whether they want to visit and whether they can afford to visit (we spent $85 when we likely would have only spent $60 or $65 for the three of us with a buffet). The food was well worth the price, the service was great, the staff was friendly. But it's time to put a sign up and notify websites about menu-only service. And then celebrate when you can finally reopen that buffet (I've always loved the variety of wonderful dishes at my local Indian restaurants). I look forward to visiting Maple again when I'm back in town. I hope the buffet will be up and running, but I'll see...
Read moreI and my husband went there yesterday and staffs were incredibly rude. We arrived 2 hrs before closing and the restaurant wasn’t even half full. They sat us near the door on a cold night then gave us no time to look at the menu immediately asking if we knew what we wanted. 3 times in less than 10 minutes and the third time the manager felt it necessary to come ask us. The busboy reached over my husbands plate while he was eating to refill his water glass. Our waitress felt the need to keep our table as clean as possible (again they have a busboy?) and they gave hardly a cup and half of boiled rice for a 12 dollar dish. On top of the rude unwillingness to serve they’re chai masala is nothing but powder milk and tea for 2 dollars. The only reasoning for this I could imagine is our being a mixed couple; right from the start we were unwanted there. I was surprised to see not even a single Indian customer in an Indian restaurant apart from me. All were white people. It became clear within few minutes why so. The owner lady of the restaurant is apparently Indian with racist attitude towards indians. She treats her white customers with so much respect and her negative attitude seems to have been reserved for brown people. She seems to think that by settling in this country she has become white and got a pass to treat others like a trash. And about food, She can fool some Americans with whatever kind of indian food she has. I would not recommend this kind of racist, ignorant, bigoted restaurant for anybody, especially darker...

Customer service was terrible. I entered. The 2 ladies stared at me. I said hi. They said hi and continued to stare at me. I said 1 person, can I be seated. They seemed irritated that I was there, She grabbed menu, said nothing, walked to a table and put the menu down for me. I looked at menu and ordered. She said ok. I was sitting waiting and the other lady answered the phone she was taking an order from a customer and rolling her eyes. The First Lady brought my food said here. After my food was served, they never came back to check on me at all. Never said anything to me. I went to pay and she said the total and tap here. I said I have cash and she sighed and took it.
Food had ok flavor but serving size was horrible. I ordered butter chicken. I received a small bowl of butter chicken. Sauce was good but there were only 4 tiny bits of chicken for the whole meal! I got a bowl of rice and 1/2 of a naan. Naan was overcooked, tasted like a bland cracker. The naan had no flavor at all.
I had mango lassi which was good.
When I paid, they over charged me. Menu said $9 for the meal and $3 for the drink. they charged $11 for the meal and $4 for the drink.
On their website, google page, and Facebook page they show a lunch buffet but there was no lunch buffet. They need to...
