Grafton SkyTour at Aerie's Resort — Attraction in Grafton

It’s a great lift. Run by a lying woman. We have been on it dozens of times. It’s a favorite of ours to take friends form out of town. We’ve probably been on it 30 times. We came a few weeks ago to take frinds from out of the country. We got there 2 minutes after they closed. The thing was that the restaurant up the hill where we were going didn’t close for another 28 minutes. I asked the woman running it if she could make an exception. There were people that we could see riding up. We had six people who wanted to pay for a ride to go eat. She said “no”. Ok we would have to hike up. Now you can drive partially up and then there is a gate to prevent drivers from going up. I get it. But there’s no sign or anything saying that you cannot walk up. So we did. We walked up and ate dinner and on the way down someone in a golf cart came down the hill and told us that he was the owner. Good to meet you. This is my family. We love coming here and these are our friends visiting from another country. We decided to bring them here and spend our money. Again. He angrily drove us down the hill and explained to me that the woman at the bottom had said that we wanted a free ride up the hill. She had called him to tell him that we wanted a free ride, for 6 people, up the hill to go eat. Nothing could be further from the truth. Well, today my son and I were back at the playground and I decided to go see if she was there. I spoke to her and explained the situation. Why did you tell your boss, the owner, that we wanted a free ride? Of course we were willing to pay. I thought perhaps she misunderstood me so I clarified it and no, she understood me fine but decided to lie to her boss, to tell him that we wanted a free ride for 6 people. Then she told me that you can’t walk up the road. Well if that were the case and if it were posted I would get it. But it isn’t posted. They don’t want people walking up and not taking the lift up. I get that but you can’t tell me that I can’t walk on a road that isn’t posted and then lie about us wanting to get free rides. It was just weird and she handle it just weird. Absolutely HATED being forced to ride this ski lift just to visit Aerie's Resort. I regretted getting on it the moment my feet left the ground lol. I did not enjoy one minute of this very long, slow ride. Spent the entire ride trying to sit perfectly still, not looking down or picturing any type of Final Destination movie that I've ever seen in my life haha. I was very thankful that at least it was safe and didn't have any issues the day we rode it. I didn't ride it back down and instead walked on the road. The young staff were friendly and sympathetic to my fear, letting several chairs go by to give me extra time to board. When we called to get more information, the woman on the phone never mentioned that there were days of the week that they do allow parking up there. She also made it sound like walking up the road wasn't allowed but we walked back down during our visit. Aerie's Resort needs to have a second option for transportation such as pay shuttles or paid parking. I would have happily paid to use any...

The Lovely Manger Older Lady who was amazing and very helpful an went out of her way to care and help us out to make sure my friend who has ms and cant walk and is in a wheelchair all times wouldn't have to risk overheating going back down the inclosed ride so she gave us a ride in her on car right at that moment didn't even hesitate couldn't thank her enough ... still couldn't believe how nice and helpful the employees and manger need more of them in all workplaces were looking forward to returning on a better day as well and hoping to have much better experience just Do Not Ride the inclosed ride during day if you have any MEDICAL RISK that heat could make worse just to be safe can reach over 100 degrees and when hot outside promise you won't enjoy it what so ever unless you have a fan of sorts. But the chair lifts are nice and have a breeze from the wind and movement of ride so is enjoyable so just don't do inclosed if hot and should have a...
