This place is a definite must see! You can fish the river, and they have a fish cleaning station as well as bathrooms. I've been visiting this place for, well, every since I was a kid and I've been bringing my kids for twenty years and counting. In all my visits only had one that was not great. There was a young couple smoking pot there while I was pinicing with my kids. I don't want my kids smelling that stuff, but they left quickly after I moved the kids to the ladder.

Read moreThis is an iconic park on the west side of the city. Connected to the historic 6th St Bridge, this is a thin but long park that run along the river. There is also a pedestrian walk way on the bridge as well. There are benches, picnic tables, and even river access for fishing. There are also multiple overlooks to see the view of the city and water. The sidewalk that runs through this park connects to Canal Park as well as the Riverwalk trail through downtown. The sixth street bridge is iconic and provides a lot of character to the whole area. You can fish here as well! The location is ideal, with plenty of options for food/drink/alcohol within walking distance. Take your date down here, order carry out from somewhere nearby, and walk down to the park to eat.
