I just got home from getting a fill and had an awful experience. The place is very cute and most of the staff seem friendly but the job done on my nails today by Ben was very upsetting. He shaved off my old nail color and used a nail drill to begin to cut my cuticles and began to fill in the nails with the acrylic powder so everything was starting off well. He filed down the ends and sides with a nail file and then immediately began to put on polish. I have been to many nail salons (trying to find one close to my house that I like) and this has never happened before. They always use multiple nail drills to buff, shine, etc., they go underneath your nail to shave any pieces that were flattened when filing instead of coming off, they trim the sides of your cuticles with a cuticle trimmer (he only used the nail drill to get the big pieces), they hold each finger together to make sure they are the same length on each hand, they use one of those orange blocks to shine the nail and then they tell you to wash your hands because you are covered in nail dust. Ben did not do a single one of those things. With chunks off fake nail underneath and on the sides and nail dust all over my hands, he started to paint them. Obviously, the texture was horrendous, with bumps all underneath the polish. He was also painting very sloppy, getting it on my skin and when he did notice he got it on my skin (which was rare) he used his finger to wipe it off. Usually, this works fine when the nail person has nails but his were bitten down and it just made more of a blob on my nails. When he realized this wasn't working, he used a very dirty rough brush dipped in acetone to wipe it off but the brush had wet red nail polish on it which only got on me instead of cleaning the polish he messed up. I am super unconfrontational and have never told a nail person in my life I didn't like something. Usually, they see it and fix it anyway and I don't want to complain when they were already planning on fixing it. He started to get out the top coat, though, so I spoke up. I asked him if he would please fix the bumps, cuticles, and the underside of the nails. He told me he could do another layer of polish. That would not make bumps go away. Keep in mind my nails were also still covered in dust. He redid 2 of the nails with the biggest bumps using his same method of the rough, red covered brush so you can guess how that went. I left him to fix it and then he asked if it was good and I said, "I really do not mean to be rude but is there someone else who can finish these" he said no and got a bit upset. He tried fixing it again and still they were rough. I was thinking of just paying and going somewhere else so when he asked if they were good yet and they were still really awful, I asked him if I should just pay and go somewhere else and he said no and kept working on them. He took the paint off finally and buffed them some more and did a little bit for my cuticles and let me wash my hands. His paint job was a lot better although not the greatest. I went to dry them and then went up to pay and a fill for acrylic there is $20 and she told me the total was $29. I was already bummed about the $20 but even with a bad experience was planning to pay the amount and tip $5. I asked why and she went to check and came back up and said the extra charge was for cutting and reshaping my nails. I want to make clear he used a nail file to TRIM my nails and nothing beyond that. Standard procedure when you get a fill because your nails have grown out. I said "is that not included in a fill?". She gave some answer I cannot remember and my boyfriend was there at this point and was overly upset for me while I was trying to be quiet and calm so I just paid it and did not tip and left because I didn't want to be in...
Read moreOnly giving 1 star because 0 isn’t an option!!!!! I had the worst experience here for my wedding nails. I called and made an appt for me and 2 of my bridesmaids for the morning of my rehearsal (A Friday) the appt was for as soon as they opened at 10 am and I made it 2 MONTHS in advance: I called to confirm one month out and then again the week of. My day was heavily scheduled so I wanted to make SURE my appt was right, plus my nails were going to be detailed so I needed a specific nail tech. We show up at 9:50 (it’s 40 mins away from me) and the girl who was opening didn’t show up until 10:20, we stood and waited in the parking lot that whole time. When she gets there she’s absolutely not rushing, just all nonchalant - turning on music, playing on her phone, checking messages... when she’s finally ready to do nails it’s 10:40 and she doesn’t even take my bridesmaid that has an appt, she takes a walk in because she knows her. So we’re sitting there waiting, I’m about to just say forget it and go somewhere else but then another tech gets there and starts on one of my bridesmaids. So me, THE BRIDE, is just sitting there- now an hour behind schedule. They don’t even call the guy (Shawn, I believe his name was) who’s supposed to be doing mine until I basically force them to. He finally shows up... at 11:30, his eyes are barely open and he reeks of booze. He finally takes me back to his table- it’s the farthest one in the back in the corner. He starts working and doesn’t say a single word to me. No apology or anything just “let me see the picture” THATS IT. THEN every single time the phone rings or a customer walks in he has to stop and walk all the way to the front of the salon to deal with it. The other girls who were RIGHT next to the desk just ignored it every time, not even caring that he was 90 mins late for my appointment already. He took many many breaks. I didn’t end up getting out of there till 2:00 pm. I was supposed to be at my venue (45 mins away) at noon to decorate. My other bridesmaid ended up doing her own nails at the hotel that night because she kept getting passed over. Hands down the worst and most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had with a business of any kind, let alone a salon. I was still charged $65 for my nails, even after all the craziness and making me late. I will never go back and advise any bride I come into contact with not to as well. It was a terrible way to start an already...
Read moreMy girlfriend has went here multiple times, for one reason. Jake does a good job. She has overlooked the other issues due to how Jake would go above and beyond to make sure she was happy with her nails. Today, was the straw that broke the camels back. She had an appointment at 10am. She was suppose to get her hands, feet, and eyebrows waxed like usual. She spends good money here every week and a half, and she tips well! So when Jake needed help on a specific design, Sean (the owner) comes over to attempt it. After a few minutes becomes disgruntled with my girl stating numerous times “Do you even know what you want?” Excuse me? She brought a picture in to show you EXACTLY what she wanted. It’s nothing crazy, and I’ve seen pictures of what your place can offer, also have I seen the work on my girls nails in the past. A bad day on your end, does NOT give you the right to bring that here. And you made a bigger mistake by it being mine! SEAN (the owner) after saying “Do you even know what you want” and “I have other clients I don’t have time for this) getting up with an attitude and leaving her to be unhappy? That’s how we do business? So I, like any American with respect for themselves, called (for a reason) because you DONT need me coming in there. I called and asked to speak with the owner, I ask him why this happened and his response? Hahahaha he tells me to come down there and fight him! First off, you don’t want these problems. And really? That’s how you run business! My girl was here for over 3 hours and only got her hands done that she is not happy with. And you tell me to come fight you.... k. Sean, I got you.
Don’t give this lowlife your business. There’s so many nail...
