PrairieSide Suites Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Grandville

We stayed at this B&B first weekend November 2024, in the French Riviera room, and it exceeded our expectations from the moment we entered our room until when we left. Another reviewer mentioned the bed, so we were a bit nervous as we both work in health care and need a decent bed for our bodies. It was as good as our high end specialty bed that we sleep in at home!

The breakfasts were above what we expected, even with such great reviews. We were full and they were delicious. We had the absolute best peanut butter and chocolate dessert I think either of us have ever tasted, and I love baking myself. The hot chocolate and special chocolate chip cookies were so comforting and cozy before bedtime or anytime. Nothing tasted artificial or too sweet. The tastes of good flavors all stood out and the feeling of the food was wholesome and refreshing to our bodies.

There was always great food and so many comforts. The tub worked perfectly, and better than other hot tubs in other hotels, and the bath salts were such a nice touch. We even watched a movie that had a French theme right in the hot tub (with the jets off though!). We got the movie from a shelf right near our room. Everything was so close to us in the room we picked. I am sure there is not a bad room in this establishment!

I would love to come back and try other rooms, but would also pick the French room again and again! The heated floors and toilet seat were just so nice. I never imagined how nice it would be. The entire organized thoughtfulness was very peaceful and non-intrusive yet very warm and welcoming.

The hostess, masseuses, and even the maintenance person we ran into were all a delight! We even played a silly game before we left, and we didn't feel weird staying to squeeze that in before getting into the car for a long drive after an awesome couples massage.

It was a wonderful memory made! We talked about it since then and agree it was very romantic. We can't believe how romantic it really was! We really needed that with opposite busy schedules in health care.

Our only complaint is that time flied by so quickly and we needed more time to experience more of the relaxation, fun and private, yet catered to, romantic environment...

Spent 2017 Labor Day weekend in the New York Loft. We have mixed feelings for our stay. The New York Loft we stayed in was okay at best. Several lights were burnt out (over the table and tub)and they didnt have any replacement bulbs on hand so half our room was dark during our stay. There is NO closet space or hangers for your clothing. NONE. If you stay in this suite pack only fold and wear items. Your dress/suit wear will have no place to hang. The towels were small as were the robes. (Tall and larger people are not taken into consideration for these items.)Neither of which were luxurious as stated. Three of the tub jets were not working. Some of the dish items were broken as well, but it did not interfere with our snacks as we ate out. The self check-in was confusing. The envelope that is left for you at the front door is not easily seen and looks like a brochure rather then a check in document. There was never a staff member to be found with the exception of breakfast. I mention this because we wanted to purchase candles to burn in our room and your only allowed to burn what they sell..none to be found and no one to find to help. Second we decided not to have daily maid service but we did need refill for coffee in the morning. Since there is never anyone around to assist we texted the owner. After 40 minutes we get a reply that states we will have to wait until 8 AM the next day and get our coffee when the cook come in. Ummmm wait I am paying $300 a night and your telling me I cant have coffee packs for morning coffee??? My day is half over come 8AM. This did not go over well. We did get coffee dropped at our door after a lengthy texting conversation. Very unprofessional and this was the straw thay broke the camels back for us. For the good plenty of hot water, plenty of parking, breakfast was wonderful, and the massages were out of this world excellent. There are a lot of places near to eat and buildings were secure. It was quiet and we never had issues with overhearing other guests. I would not return but maybe you will get better luck then we did. Over all it was a bit over priced for what was provided but as they say...

If you’re looking for the most relaxing couples getaway, look no further than PrairieSide Suites. We went for an anniversary and were so happy with our stay! If this is your first B&B stay, have no hesitations as you receive detailed instructions (via text) which outline the whole process. Check-in was quick and easy, and we did get a big “Happy Anniversary!” on our check-in card, which was sweet! We really enjoyed the coffee, hot cocoa bar and sweets in the main house. If you’re lucky enough to get Jeanine’s carrot cake, it’s a must-have!

Our room was everything we expected and more - very clean and so many amenities that truly make this place a step above the rest! The highlight, the jacuzzi tub, did not disappoint.. the only thing that made it better was the heated towel after! We can’t wait to make this a yearly trip and explore the different rooms!

Jeanine’s breakfast options were diverse and soooo delicious. Each day, there was a sweet option, savory option and a yogurt with fruit & granola option. We each requested a sweet option one day and the savory option the next, everything that we got was top notch. You can definitely count on getting something super yummy each morning and being full through lunch time.

The grounds were beautiful. We checked out their pool which was clean and such a relaxing spot due to the waterfall and cabana. You always feel secure, wherever you are, due to the required key code entry and automatically locking doors. It’s also in an extremely quiet area where we felt safe to walk to the main house at night for a snack!

One thing that was clear is that the owners and staff are what make this place. They truly go above and beyond to make it what it is. Jeanine was extremely accommodating in her texts, letting us know to contact her if anything was needed at check-in, and doting on us throughout our stay with delivered breakfasts. We got daily texts asking us how the stay was going, and if anything could be done for us. Your quality of stay is really made a priority, and it is made extremely clear that help is just a text away, if needed.

We were so sad to leave and can’t wait...
