I have always loved the restaurant that is now Arrows. Knowing these two use to be connected restaurants, I was excited to eat at Rainbow because itās closer to my friendās house. The food was ok and our waitress was good. However, upon leaving I had hoped to get some muffins I forgot to order with the meal so I was waiting by the hostess stand. The way this afternoonās hostess treated an elderly couple who came in was absolutely unacceptable. The elderly woman, using a walker, clearly was just trying to keep up slow movement til she could sit. They asked for a close table - it was clear she needed to be seated soon to be comfortable. The hostess got VERY flustered and snapped at the couple that she needed to check what tables were open so they needed to stop. They proceeded to slowly move - I donāt know that they even heard her since she was talking over them, and she went to the dining room, found the table, and got back to the stand while the elderly lady moved MAYBE four feet. The waitress then proceeded to VERY sarcastically, snarky, and rudely say āthe sign says WAIT to be seated.ā No customer should be treated that way, especially a well meaning elderly couple. If this hostess is not equipped to handle her job, then perhaps she needs more training or a new position in the restaurant, but it is not ok to treat customers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I love this restaurant! The people are awesome! Food is outstanding! This review was written over a year ago, we are regular customers there we supported it during the pandemic always had great food and service but that all changed last night 6/29/2021 we spent 30.00 on a take out order I asked for crispy bacon and I got burned bacon I called and asked to speak to a manager and I spoke with him, I wonāt mention his name but he was so rude and crass about my order! Iāve never been treated like that. So I said good bye and decided to call back and speak to the owner, he told me why do you need to speak to the owner youāve already spoken to me! Now I politely said Iād like to speak to the owner once again and he actually said heās in the bathroom Iāll have him call you back which he did. He was very nice but never offered any explanation on why our dinner was like this or why his mgr was able to speak to a customer in that way. I grappled with this all evening and decided to write this review and include pictures. We will not ever go back to the Rainbow for any meal which breaks my heart because it was one of our favorite local places, but when a mgr is allowed to speak to a customer the way he did itās just wrong, and Iāve seen him in there before heās rude not friendly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start out by saying I understand everyone is shorthanded but this is a fail for all their staff. 10/14/23 two of us went for breakfast at 11:25am. Not busy. In fact we were seated immediately. It took a little over 45 minutes to get an egg breakfast and skillet, asked for crispy hashbrowns (they were soggy and not warm all the way through) , one of us didn't even get the toast that was ordered with the skillet, no water refills were offered 1 coffee refill was offered. The table behind us cancelled their egg order due to the fact they were ready to go and the eggs had still not been brought out (all their meals finished). A couple with young children ended up getting their own silverware, water from the area by the kitchen and we gave them an unused straw (after they asked and it was 7 minutes later and not brought to them). They waited just as long for their food. No staff acknowledged the slowness or the poor service. I still tipped 20%. There were several restless people commenting at their tables. For being a landmark spot it was a real shame. I went there 55 years ago as a child. We frequent the one in Hudsonville and marvel at the service and hospitality at that location. The Grandville location is off my...
