CTR Computers — Attraction in Great Falls

Well lets start with the basics these frauds sold my father a barely functional computer that was irreparable, and as a former tech I can say that with certainty. Not only was the computer broken to begin with, the "Windows 7" disk that came with it was NOT an original copy but a burned ".ISO" to a CD with sharpie saying "Windows 7" it had no COA and no proof of purchase not only is this poor customer service is complete software piracy. The store seems in disarray and the staff seem very standoffish I cannot recommend this business to anyone you're much better off going elsewhere. EDIT I wish to quell the owner's response, there is NO COA and even if there where it is STILL unlawful to provide the COA and the non-original software. Furthermore it is unlawful to reproduce the windows software to another medium and distribute it. IF he bought the windows COA he bought the software and the had copy not just the sticker that has the code on it. The other computer place would never do...

We chatted at length about various computer topics, and I feel I have sufficiently established a pretty solid impression of their technical knowledge, and I don't mind saying that I was impressed.

I have been doing computer work for a little over 20 years, myself, so I feel I can say from personal experience (after a nice long chat) that they are both knowledgeable and humble. They showed that they are certainly not afraid to learn new things (and we all always have new things to learn, especially in the ever-changing realm of computers.)

I asked to have a tour for someone who was interested in repairing computers. Not only did they answer every question, they took apart a lap top and a tower for him to see what was involved if he chose to go this career path. Shared information we had not thought of to ask as well. I learned a tremendous amount but that is not what I was most impressed with. While they were training, they emphasized how to make sure to destroy personal information so that it could not be accessed if the computer was to be recycled. Each project they were talking to him about was done precisely and in an organized manner so it was evident that this is how they do it every time. ...
