DO NOT RENT A SHELTER FROM THIS PARK! I wanted to have a birthday party for my son so I thought, "what better place than Cleveland Park!" I went on the City of Greenville website and rented shelter 29. After making my payment, they sent me the rules stated that there were no refunds! I called a couple of days after I made the payment and a couple of days before the party to see if there was an arrangement to be made. I did this because I checked the weather forecast and there was a 100% chance of severe thunderstorms on the day of birthday party. I did not receive a call back from the representative after I left a message. I called them several times. I called back the day after the "planned" birthday party, which didn't happened because it stormed ALL DAY! I asked to speak to the representative but this time, Brandy (secretary) wouldn't put me in direct contact with her. I was placed on hold and told that there was nothing they could do. I just wanted to switch days, NOT A REFUND! I'm pretty sure no one missed an opportunity to have an event at that shelter not did I take up a slot because the weather was horrible! I will NEVER plan another event at this establishment. This place just received a large amount of money from me! Very...
Read moreA city park next to the Greenville Zoo entrance, has multiple playgrounds, pavilions, picnic tables, fitness equipment along one of the trails, ample parking space, tennis courts, restrooms, access to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Can walk/bike on the latter either toward the downtown along the Reedy River under the beautiful trees providing good shade, or the opposite way toward YMCA and Greenville Tech. Has a short, but very nice Fernwood Nature Trail through the dense forest along a picturesque brook with interpretive signage by the path. Another walking trail goes above the tennis courts along the street, all shaded and with benches. Loved the place! Even saw a beaver...
Read moreNice park, pretty busy on nice days. Plenty of space to run and okay etc. It's an unusual shape being long and thin but this is due to it following the river. Nice walk from here into the middle of Greenville. Parking is free so you can take your time. It takes about 30 mins at a decent pace. Cylcing from here on the Swamp Rabbit trail is another option. However as of today I suggest you go towards travellers rest because towards Greenville Tech there is only about a mile of off road path that is until they compete the rest of the Swamp Rabbit all the way to Conestee Nature Reserve. When that's done it'll be...
