So I will preface this comment with my family doesn't even believe in zoos as an institution, we believe in animals staying exactly where their native, and us sending money for creating reserves, and giving locals jobs. That being said I'll also say I worked with kids and their parents for some 17 years even before parenting, and the very young women (who could be parent, idk, at the girraff encounter first off are golden human beings. My oldest who's normally so good at things like feeding big animals, and she's fed a girraff before at a zoo with the same set up with zero problem was melting down that day, and then I no less almost couldn't stop myself from petting the girraff like a child, and they didn't shame, they didn't embarrass, I was informed that the girraffs simply could run away if she was yelling by them, but that they know this kinda thing happens, and my second daughter was READY to go, and I didn't want to deprive her of the experience just due to my oldest having an abnormal freak out, and they all were so mature, and proffesional, and human. Then add their classes are affordable, ESPECIALLY compared to market, price, they have annual membership that gets you discounts on even the classes, they do homeschool classes, mobile (come to schools) classes, virtual classes, toddler classes, 5 to 7 year old classes, and then they boast having staff around some days to just give knowledge, and homeschool EXTREMELY discount days. Like we've homeschooled for around 3 years now, and take friends on field trips, and I will be telling everyone about greenville zoos price breaks, plus let me add, especially since i said we dont believe in zoo !,# still dont, but their gift shop boasts giving proceeds to endevors such as re-purposed snares recovered from poachers laying them into jewlery, and they send money to atleast one animal reserve in Kenya which i know personally those jobs not only give locals jobs, natives jobs who send funds post colonialism to their villages since their land was stolen in part, and it gives jobs to some poachers who just try to feed their own families. Their not evil, or greedy, or scary, their dads mostly who when they can have an animal reserve job dont have to poach to feed their families to feed others greed which is huge to my families heart. I am a huge animal lover and I connect with them on a deep level. Many animals looked to me and said "please help". I'm not saying I'm Dr. Dolittle but I know animals.

This is such a SAD zoo. It's so small. The giraffes don't have enough room and it's sick how bare it is. They are big animals they need to be able to use their long legs. All they did was walk in circles begging for an escape. The bigger giraffe kept trying to warn me about the shocking wire, he had many lacerations on his leg.

The flamingos had the saddest looking water hole. There were so many of them and little water.

The red panda desperately needed more space. It was so bored it looked so sad. He just ran in circles bc he couldn't do anything else.

The eagle owl was in such a small cage it couldn't even get a good glide or even stretch out comfortably. Birds are meant to fly not sit in a small box.

The pigs they have had the smallest dirt pad ever. Not even wet dirt just really dry sandy dirt.

The orangutans looked so depressed. It was a decent size but definitely not big enough. They all looked like they were giving up on life.

The reptile building is terrifying. The blue tongue skink looked like it was battling death. It had no coloring. Most of the reptiles were in the smallest enclosure ever. The huge python was in the saddest looking enclosure I've ever seen. I'm a reptile fan I've had many reptiles as I know how to care for them. What I saw made me sick.

The Amur leopard was stunning, it was pacing and was very anxious. The leopard literally came up to me and looked into my soul for help. I saw the fear in her eyes and it was absolutely devastating.

I cried walking through this "zoo". I don't understand how this is legal. None of the animals had enough space.

WAKE UP PEOPLE. Most animals in small zoos get abused and put in tiny enclosures. How would you like it if the roles were switched? Would you like to be put in a tiny enclosure and have 100's of people look at you and take pictures or talk loudly when you're trying to relax. Would you like to barely have enough room to even walk?
