I have attended about 5 events here over the span of 6 years and I am always left frustrated and disappointed with the food service and their customer service.
Most recently we were given instructions by our organization to let a server know about any special diet orders (vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, etc.) at the time of service the meals were preordered and ready with our names on them. When approached, the server was rude and very exasperated that we were speaking to her and blamed our organization for ordering late and that no meals were ever made since the order came in late. Okay, our organization’s fault, but the attitude was pretty ridiculous when all we each did (3 of us) was ask per instructions. We were told the orders would be made if the chef decided to do them and then brought out. 20 minutes later I am told by this same server that no food was being brought. Why? Because someone else also asked for some before me and only that person was being served. I was then advised to go to the main table if I wanted to eat and maybe try to just have some salad or pasta. I did not even attempt to explain that I cannot have the cheese added to them given her attitude. I clarified that no main dish would be provided because someone else ordered a dish before me and she said correct. Does this make any logical sense? Everyone at table was shocked and one described the server’s attitude as ugly.
About 10 minutes later another, actually nice server came out and brought a main dish out. It was undercooked, barely warm and unseasoned with no sides like others received, but that is expected at convention centers and I think this was the original dish that was supposedly given to someone that ordered before me. I was informed by another employee this happens EVERY YEAR with their service and they always blame the ordering organization.
Update: while I truly respect and appreciate the owner reaching out, when I attempted to find a contact email for someone on the website as requested, there are only numerous sales dept emails, nothing else and no email in...
Read moreIdk who's bright idea it was to have a child dominant BJJ tournament in the midst of a tuff man contest but that was one of the worst debacles I have ever seen. The children couldn't even find a place to use the bathroom let a lone stand in the auditorium without some one from the staff telling them they need to find someplace else to go. I don't understand how you can pack that many individuals in one space with all the children that were there and not have room for them to actually stand in one place!
I truly hope that this was a last minute throw together where you had no other choice but to put them in the midst of this mess if it was I truly apologize for my negative comments and understand that you do the best you can. If this was something that had been thought out and planned then it was probably one of the worst decisions I've ever seen.
I hope no one ever tries to do this ever again. If it was a full-blown MMA match with adults only I could completely understand but to throw that many children in the midst of the mess that you had going on was absolutely ridiculous. A 7-year-old little boy should not be snapped at by advanced staff because he's standing beside a chair that is set up for powerlifting. There were no signs, no guardrails, no ribbons, no fencing, not even a piece of tape on the floor or a paper with handwriting that would even give anyone the slightest idea about what was going on.
Every Martial Arts tournament I've ever been to, always had the family vibe to it. t This was the absolute complete opposite of anything that even resembled family-friendly!!!
I will never...
Read moreThe handicapped parking was entirely too far from the entrance. If you were using a power chair or a scooter, the distance to the handicapped parking was not a problem. The sidewalk was paved well, although too narrow. However, if you were using a cane, walker, crutches, or manual wheelchair, it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get to the entrance. The designers of this building obviously did not consider the multiple types of handicaps that people have to deal with every day. Also, there should have been areas to sit down all along this walkway for people who suffer from pulmonary or cardiac issues. There also was no safe place where a disabled person could be dropped off or picked up that was closer to the entrance. I am a retired disabled nurse, and I saw quite a few others struggling to walk the long distance. This did not affect just me. It was totally unacceptable. Struggling this hard just to get into the building made the whole experience miserable. Also, the parking spaces that I saw were too close together and would not have allowed the deployment of a wheelchair ramp. I will not ever attend another event at...
