Love coming here! Whether it's a date night with my husband or celebrating my step son's birthday, this place is always a good time! They have arcade games and a photo booth as well so that you can still have fun while waiting for your turn to race!
We did have an issue this last time with loading money on our game card... The money came out of our bank account but it didn't load to our game card. I went to the counter and stood in line. There were 2 individuals working. 1 of the individuals was helping a group of 6 people. The other individual was almost done helping 2 people, and I was up next.
At least I thought I was next in line. All of the sudden a group of 7 teenagers walk up (they had just finished racing). The lady working at the counter finished with the 2 people she was helping, so I went to step up to the counter, but instead she started helping the group of teenagers. I watched them each order and pay individually wondering how they managed to get helped before I did when I had been standing in line for roughly 5 minutes prior to them.
I'm not normally one to make a big deal about this kind of thing, but we only had so long with my stepson before he had to leave. So I said something to the employee about it. She said it was because they were birthday party customers, which I'm assuming translates to they paid more money than us to be there so they get priority. But she saw me standing in line before they walked up. Would it have been that hard to at least let me know what was going on?
By the time I had waited initially, plus the extra time I had to wait because she helped the teenagers, plus the amount of time it took her to put the money we had already paid for onto our game card, it was time for my stepson to leave. We weren't able to even use the money on the game card with him, which was disappointing for him, my husband, and myself.
Even though we had this one issue, we will continue to come back and race. We still think this place is absolutely amazing. And we will still tell our friends and family to come out as well! One bad experience doesn't change our entire outlook and we have already started planning our next...
Read moreWe have visited K1 multiple times in the past, with the previous owner, and had no issues. That said, we are here today. Middle of the day on a Wednesday. Paid for two races for only two riders and were given no estimate on when the race would start.
It turns out there were a couple of birthday parties who did multiple races prioritized over us. After an hour and a half, we had our first race. After completion of the first race, we were told it would be another half an hour at least before the next ride.
I understand that birthday parties and large groups make reservations, but it is very unprofessional to not give people signing up a heads up that there are groups ahead of them and we should expect to wait over two hours.
Even the employees behind the counter agreed it is something they should implement.
At one point when they said we’d be the next race, they only called a few people but not our kids to the race. I called it their attention and they added them in.
Final wait time on a non-holiday Wednesday at 3p for two riders: first race 1.5 hours from sign-up to start. second race 45 minutes after completion of first
Again, I totally understand parties with reserved time, but we were not given a heads up and we’re just waiting for our races to start. Had we known, we would’ve come back another day.
Additionally, with 10 cars on a very small track, it was extremely congested and difficult to pass. I’m not sure if they have increased the number of cars on the track at a time, or maybe we were lucky on previous visits, but it was absolutely not...
Read moreI took my husband and son here for my husband's 50th Birthday. I was first out on the track with 9 other racers behind me. I went around 1 time and then my go cart speed was restricted and and I had the other racers running into the back of me and I kept getting the sign to let others pass and to brake on the turns. However there was no need to break because with my foot to the floor, everyone was passing me. Then at lap 11 my go cart sped up again. When the race was finished I asked the employee what I had done wrong so that when we used our next races I wouldn't do it again. The employee went over to another man and the I my thing that I could hear was that employee cussing and yelling like he was mad at me. We asked to speak to a manager and the young man said that he was the manger and he apologized for the man cussing at me and he said that he didn't know what I did and to just ignore the cussing employee. We asked for our money back on our next race and we were instructed to go up front. We tried to tell the gentleman at the front desk what had happened when we requested our money back but he didn't want to hear us out. He actually told me that I shouldn't be talking to the man "running the race" and he wasn't the one "running the race" so he didn't know what I had done. We did end up with the requested refund for the races that we didn't use.
From one business owner to another... listen to your customers, hear them out and answer their questions kindly. AND do not allow your employees to cuss at them...
