United States Postal Service — Local services in Grimes

Worst service ever. I recently submitted a request for the post office to hold my mail while being out of town. While out, I checked tracking on a package and saw it was delivered on the front porch. I called and spoke to Ruben (post master) at the Grimes Post Office and he said he would have my mail picked up along w/ the package at the front door. After coming home, I noticed package was setting on the front porch still. I went into the post office and spoke to the woman at the front desk about this, and she chuckled as if it was joke. She then mentioned I need to fill out a form at the post office for holding mail instead of using the online form. I told her I've had mail held by the post office in the past without issues. She had no clear response/answer. l've also had the wrong mail delivered to my house on several instances. I guess this is what you get with a Federal institution with limited/no...

I recently opened a business in grimes. I’ve received countless packages from UPS and it’s been great. I have had 1 item come through usps. They were supposed to deliver my item on Sunday and stated(via me using the tracking number) they left a note on front door due to nobody here. Not a big deal...except there was nothing on any of our doors. After being on hold for over an hour I ran out of time and didn’t get ahold of anyone. I proceeded to call the following day with multiple expected wait times of over an hour. Two days after it was supposed to be delivered my neighbor in formed me that my order had been put in his mailbox. Terrible customer service. I’d stay clear of sending or receiving anything...

Called them this morning to check the status of my package to see if It was out for delivery or I could pick it up because it was Saturday and I didn't want to wait until Monday for the package that was suppose to be priority shipping. I asked the girl who answered to check for me she said she was new and didn't know how. I asked if someone could help all she said was they are busy. I said I'll call back in 20. I call back and she realized it was me again and said in a rude tone "if your packaged arrived here it will get delivered, have a great day" and hung up the phone. she won't be working there long. And I won't be using USPS for any more of my companies businesses...
