The Spice & Tea Exchange of Guilford — Attraction in Guilford

What a great little place!! I went to get my nails done on new years eve, and when I was finished I decided to hit Guilford center for a little local shopping. I decided to go in even though I'm really not a tea person, and I'm so glad I did!! First, google said they closed at 5. It was only 3, but they must have been closing early for the holiday. Unfortunately I had no idea and walked in right as they were about to lock up and clean or I wouldn't have bothered them, but the owner, Cindy, was more than welcome to let me shop around with the doors locked so she could finish up her day. She was amazingly sweet, even though I just walked in at closing, and a wonderful help! VERY knowledgeable and passionate about her products. She even took the time to show me around, all the different types of teas, spices and herbs they have, and how I can use them all in various ways. I ended up leaving with a delicious 3 pack of spice blends as a gift for someone, which she also picked me out a recipe card to go with one of the spices I purchased. That's another cool thing about this place, they have recipe cards for all of the spices and blends they have!! I even left with a mango herbal tea, and it's delicious!!!! I'll be going back this weekend for more!! A great little place to spend your money especially if you love specialty teas...

Walking into The Spice & Tea Exchange is like walking into a place and time when there's Love & Peace. The smells of spices and teas are inviting. Your pallet communicates to your mind to purchase everything that makes you smile. The Spice & Tea Exchange will put balance in your life with the extended varieties of sea salts, peppers, sugars, teas, a variety of specialty blended rice, amongst flavored honeys, and gift items. For a small store with very limited space, they've managed to make it work. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and can advise you on whatever you tastebuds require or you body needs to soothe aches and pains. They have several locations, I have been to the one in Mystic. You walk into a really nice aroma of the different spices / teas, it actually blends well together smell wise.

The two ladies there were phenomenal and a great help. A plethora of information. There was a suggestion to mix a spice and sugar together for cauliflower. I look forward to trying it!

I could have easily spent an hour in this store looking at all of the options. Teas / spices/sugars / salts/honey's. Many options and great gifts for someone you know who likes to try new things and enjoys cooking overall.
