JAIPORE Xpress — Restaurant in Guilford

I cannot get over how good this food is. My husband got some for take-out and I near lost my mind with how delicious it was. I've had a LOT of Indian food, it is one of my favorite cuisines. I am also a professional chef, so I can be a bit of a harsh critic at times..

This is far and away the best Indian food I've had in CT. It's close to the best Indian food I've had, period. The Samosa Chaat, the Paneer Butter Masala, the Onion Naan, the Rasmalai- I literally could not shut up about how good the food was as I was eating it, to the point that I was actually annoying myself. 😅

The food overall leans sweet, especially the tomato based sauces, and that is usually something that I would not like. In this case, however, I can't argue with any of this food. It's perfectly seasoned, there is a lot of depth and character to the flavors, and even though much of it was sweeter than I'd typically like, it's obvious that these flavor profiles are very intentional. Whoever is cooking in this kitchen has a distinct style and honestly, it's just fantastic.

I loved our first order so much, and was so sad when I ran out of leftovers- my amazing husband went back tonight and got more food to surprise me! And guess what?! Its equally as good as the first time, SUPER consistent flavors, excellent quality- this round was the best Naan I've ever had.

Not often you give a restaurant 5 stars but Jaipore Xpress is more than deserving. We have dined at several Indian restaurants in CT including Kamana Fine Indian cuisine, The Spice Palette Indian Cuisine, Darbar India, Sherkaan Indian Street Food, Royal Spice, Coromandel Cuisine Of India…, and nothing has come close to Jaipore Xpress which is arguably the best Indian food we have had in the New England area which includes NYC. The dishes are bursting with flavor which signifies how fresh the food is. It is not like you are being served a dish that has one or two flavors… at Jaipore Xpress, with each bite, you receive a plethora of tastes that set your senses on high alert for awesome cuisine. We asked the waiter for recommendations and ordered what he suggested, and he was 100% accurate in the selections as well as the level of heat/spice. We ordered medium spice which seemingly danced on the tip of our tongues… it was just right. Often times you dine at Indian restaurants and the food is bland or the spice level is lame… neither is the case at Jaipore Xpress. A dinner for two was $65 which included a starter of Lassoni Gobi, and then main courses of Chicken Tikka Masala and Aloo Dhansak and an order of garlic naan. The serving sizes are large. Highly recommend...

Outstanding Indian food and customer service! We're so lucky to have Jaipore Xpress in Guilford - it's tucked back in the parking lot behind Water street. The food is incredibly delicious - gorgeously presented, super fresh, high quality ingredients, creative, perfectly spiced. Tastes like it's made with love and care! Every time we go there, we receive the warmest welcome from the owner and team. They are kindest people who genuinely go out of their way to create an amazing meal and experience for their customers. Last time we dined there, they offered us a complimentary rice pudding dessert for all. And they surprised our kids with a fun magic/physics trick and balloon art. What other restaurant would do that? I love their vegan Tadka Daal and samosas as well as the saag paneer, and my husband enjoys the lamb korma or chicken tikka masala. Honestly every dish I've had is absolutely delicious..it's NYC quality. Portions are large so there are usually leftovers that we take home and enjoy the next day. I hope more people wander off the main path and discover this hidden gem in Guilford! You can bring your own bottle of wine. Let's all support this restaurant so that it...
