I live in Foley, a short distance from Gulf Shores, and never knew this little museum existed. I was looking on Google for things for couples to do in Gulf Shores and found this place. It was very well kept, and I found everything very informative. There's info about the first families of the Gulf Shores area, which I found very interesting. There's also lots of info on the hurricanes our area has had over the years. The admission is free, which is a fantastic plus.

Very cute and well maintained museum. My 11&7 year olds both enjoyed it - as a homeschooling mom, I appreciated this quiet, free place to spend an hour and a half learning all we could while catching a break from the rain on vacation! Thank you for providing this treasure to the community! A very well maintained facility and super friendly ladies working inside. Be sure to catch the documentary that plays to appreciate the full impact of Hurricane Ivan!

Excellent museum, friendly and informative staff, looks small outside, but inside, the space was well used displaying a larger than expected amount of interesting historical photos, artifacts, and stories. Well worth our time, learned a lot about the region's history, life, and formative forces. Beautiful butterfly garden as well!

Walked in and was hounded at the door so fast I couldnt even think of my name to sign the guest book. Then proceeding onto the next room we seemed to have bothered the employees by our presence. I love history and this town and was interested in learning about it however the tone and mere demeanor of the woman towards me and my husband was as if she was looking down her nose at us. Our kids were also looking forward to the experience but the whole atmosphere was hostile not inviting welcoming or warm. Our family of four left disappointed and frustrated. I was really looking forward towards it because I am a nerd oh and it is my birthday. We were celebrating. Thanks gulf shores museum for making us feel out of place unwanted and just plan bad. However we will pray for you and hope you have a wonderful day and hope you fix your issues. Or dont work public service if you dont like people..just saying...on to the next museum wont take much to top that vist. Sincerely the...
