I donât normally write reviews but this experience left a bad enough taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively) that I felt compelled to say something.
I came to Happy Pappyâs Coffee Shop on vacation, just looking for a good atmosphere and a solid breakfast sandwich. Nothing fancy just a quiet morning with coffee and a bite to eat. I ordered a Marilyn Monroe drink and a sausage breakfast sandwich. A kind family ahead of me let me go first since they had a big order. I really appreciated that.
The drink came out quickly, and it was actually pretty good. But the sandwich? That turned into a waiting game that completely soured the experience. I waited patiently⌠and waited some more. Finally, I asked calmly and respectfully about the status of the sandwich. The young woman at the counter told me they had a long line and it would be out âin a bit.â I get it Iâm in retail, too. But I had ordered before the rush. I wasnât asking for special treatment, just acknowledgment.
Time passed. I saw other people who ordered after meâŚwalk away with food bags, wraps, even full orders. Meanwhile, I was still just sipping the last of my coffee, sandwichless. When it finally came out, I didnât even feel like staying. I took it to my truck because, frankly, I felt like a burden just for asking about it in the first place. It was like I was invisible. Coming from a Christian-themed coffee house, the cold indifference stung more than the actual sandwich.
And speaking of the sandwichâŚit was cold. Not just metaphorically. It tasted like it had been cooked and forgotten somewhere near the sink, then tossed in an air fryer as an afterthought. It had flavor, sure but it felt like an apology that never came.
I ended up walking over to the trailer outside to buy another coffee just to wash down the disappointment.
This experience wasnât just a service hiccup it made me feel unwelcome, like I wasnât supposed to be there. And thatâs what really hurt. I came in just wanting breakfast. I left feeling like Judas at the...
Read moreVisited here to grab a light later afternoon lunch to tide us over till the evening. This spot is set a little back from the main road and is unfortunately at time of writing sort of difficult to access (at least if you're headed into the area from Orange Beach) because of construction. Had to do a couple u-turns but I did finally make my way there!
They have a cute patio and the inside is a total vibe! I could absolutely see myself hanging out here to catch up with a friend. It'd be nice to work in, too, though it was a little noisy at least on an early Friday afternoon.
They serve coffee and some basic breakfast and sandwich items and desserts. There's obviously a bit of a Greek flair going here, which makes it fun -- Greek coffee, baklava, and a Greek grilled cheese.
I wanted to get my order to go so I could bring some lunch back to my husband at the condo. The line moved quickly enough although my food wound up taking a little while. I'll blame the fairly large party ahead of me, though.
I ordered the aforementioned Greek grilled cheese for myself and a Gulf Shores panini for my husband. Both sandwiches came with a bag of Ms. Vickie's chips. Since I wasn't satisfied with my coffee from a different shop earlier, I also decided to order one of their energy drink mixers. I was too scared I'd get burned on coffee again, lol. This one was called Shark Bite iirc and is made with Red Bull and strawberry and coconut flavors.
I was really hoping it would taste like a Dutch Bros Shark Attack Rebel as that's a go-to of mine, but sadly it really didn't. The coconut flavor was suuuuper strong and it tasted artificial, which like...of course it is, lol, but it's nice to be able to fool yourself!
Other than this little blip, though, our sandwiches were both delicious, especially the Greek grilled cheese. It tasted like spinach and artichoke dip on toasty bread, and who wouldn't love that?
Service was super nice and responsive to my needs. Would recommend,...
Read moreI don't even know where to start with this one, I have never given a one star so this is a sad post for me. The first blended coffee we requested almond milk due to a sensitivity, they told us they can't make it with almond milk because the recipe is done with a powder milk. Strike one, strike two when I ordered a cold foam latte they gave a straw when I asked for a drink through lid the young male working told me to just stir the cold foam in...I ordered cold iced cold foam to drink through the cold foam...when I realized they could not accommodate I tried to drink it through the straw and it was terrible they said it was because I got it with sugar free syrup....I drink all my iced coffee with sugar free syrups...I asked for a refund at this point....the cashier women went back and spoke with someone behind the closed door not once but three times. She asked if they could remake something. I declined and then they continued to push on a remake....I did not want one. I nicely asked for a refund. They finally gave a refund after going behind the closed door multiple times.. if they would have simply said we do not do refunds I would have just walked away. Please know I leave this review with many days between when I purchased and left the review so I would not put anything hastily. The blended drinks my others got were okay they said they were a 2/5 based on taste but were...
