This is my family and I first time visiting and we had a blast. If you are driving on a road trip I would advise to pack your own beach umbrella, chairs, coolers, and other necessary supplies. If you decide to rent the umbrella and 2 beach lounge chairs for $40, the rental ends at 5pm. Sooo many people were left on the beach after 5pm in the heat!! It was super hot on the beach.

We were able to find a free upclose parking space on 1st street across the street from the entrance were the "Hangout" restaurant is located. It was a Friday around 3pm when we got to the beach.

When driving down HWY 59 to get to the beach, you can hardly see the beach due to the rows of hotels and condos lined up along the beach shore. However, it is very accessible to access the beach, but the wait time at the pedestrian crosswalks takes a while to cross due to a waitime for the signal light to change.

I do like how they have blue walkways for you to walk and pull your wagon closer to the beach to help you bring your supplies and not walk in the sand so far. As a precaution, if you bring a wagon make sure it has super durable wheels to move through the sand. I have this wagon, but it was still quite hard to pull in the sand.

Now where I was located you can camp out very near the beach shoreline. This truly helps to watch your children. We were able to social distance and the beach was clean. The water is not clear. My first visit had me in the mindset since I'm on the Gulf of Mexco the water would be more clearer. This beach water reminds me of our beach in Galveston, TX.

This is a great vacation destination. Enjoyed our vacation here during the Covid 19 pandemic to get out of the house. However, no one is hardly wearing masks in this city. If you're like me and my family, just mask and glove down and bring your clorox wipes hand sanitizer, and lysol...

They have public bathroom stalls, no showers. Pay to park. Nicest lifeguards/paramedics/cops you'll ever meet!! (As long as you're abiding by the law lol 😂 - duh) No pets allowed, that's right, not even your "emotional support" animal, you'll get fined. Yes they can do that, it's the law.

No alcohol and No smoking.

Very family oriented, only miles away from some really awesome bars, shops and restaurants...

Open from sunrise to 2am ish, at least that's how long the pay to park ticket is good for...

Bathrooms get locked around 1030ish.

Some of the biggest sea shells I've seen in a very long time, and consistently so, not just after storms and such!!

Beautiful clear water, I've seen zero seaweed or jelly fish in the months I've been through here 🙂

Parking is always full by 10-11 am during peak season (From April - idk yet still peak lol)

Very short walk to the beach no matter the tide.

There is a handicap ramp that leads to the bathrooms and the sand. And stairs obviously, that lead to both.

Very clean.

Blue Angels fly over occasionally.

Then some helicopters, I guess the coast guard possibly? They circled three times last week and would dip low to the water and a guy would jump out, like in the movies 😂 then TWO MORE came!?! It was awesome to watch...... until the helicopter took off east as far as the eye could see and never missed a beat!? 😳

Probably some training exercises...
