Disclaimer! HOTEL IS FILTHY AND HAS ROACHES!! I will include pictures for evidence! Let’s begin! $1,000+ for a 3 day stay in this piece of trash… if you’re gonna be charging these egregious prices atleast do the footwork to make ppl feel like they are getting somewhat of what they pay for! The elevator is constantly littered with trash .WALKWAY IS SO FILTHY IT IS BLACK AND THE FLOOR IS SUPPOSED TO BE TEAL BLUE. Indoor pool is filthy! sand mixed with pool water is all over the place it’s sludge. Pool door is cracked. Looks tacky and ghetto and unkept! DO NOTE that The front desk chick will surely make the power walk to lock the door to the pool by 10 pm so no one can go swimming but won’t take a broomstick and try to sweep up all the sand and dirt nightly in effort to try and make the guests feel comfortable that they arent walking in a cesspool! Smh again $1000 for this filth!??? …. When we first entered the room I went directly for the bathroom to run the water and the tub had the last guests hair in it 🤮 and the tub was also extremely slow to drain a little bit of water smh immediately after I went to check the bedding cuz after finding the bathroom filthy I questioned the bedding… I saw a stain and reached for the phone to ask for fresh sheets and low and behold the phone is disconnected/ doesn’t work ON PURPOSE 100% ( in efforts not to be bothered by guests that are spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars to lodge at your facility, we can’t even make a phone call to ask questions or anything) and it’s definitely that way on purpose because I saw another review with same issue of the room phone being disconnected smh. just know they couldn’t give two flying FCKS about customer service here! If you’re still reading you’re in for more! So after making my way to Walmart to buy cleaning supplies and new bed sheets, bleach etc to clean the room at an extra expense to myself on top of the $1000 I payed Because you can’t bother the staff here to be accommodated the 2nd day I discovered THE PLACE HAS ROACHES 🪳!!!!! Also they have to account for every single towel someone uses so they make you sign out towels like it’s a pair of skates at a skating rink smh we’re renting a room here IS IT THAT SERIOUS! Are you all that cheap!??? as if they don’t generate enough money to replace towels if need be! Kitchenette looks outdated filthy and run down as well and fridge had black specks in it. So if you wanna come lay in a pig sty for big bucks come on down to best western in gulf shores Alabama! Or you can bite the bullet and stay next door in something nicer with more morality by spending an extra 200-300 bucks or if you’re like me stop being a last minute loser and star booking AHEAD so you have a CHOICE!!! Normally the last option isn’t the best! YOUVE...
Read moreThis place is absolute garbage. From the moment I checked in and saw the terrible condition of the main level, to the moldy room with disgusting carpet, it was clear that I made a mistake in booking this place. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went to check out the amenities, including the outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub, and restaurant. The outdoor pool had 3 access points, but 2 were locked, leaving the only access from the garage where it was flooded due to recent rainstorms. After climbing the retaining wall to avoid the 2 foot deep pond blocking the only access to the pool, I discovered that pool was ice cold (unheated like all the other hotels in the area). The indoor pool is in a different structure out front, with 3 locked doors. I manage to find the single access point here too with a sliding glass door, and walk in to find the lights are apparently out due to an electrical issue, the pool is clearly not sanitary and lacks any chemicals (I assume it is a salt pool, but the smell tells me it's been a long time since salt has been added). The hot tub is about 90 degrees, and clearly acidic with a green hue. I imagine that any of these pools/hot tub would test high for bacteria and other biotic growth that could make people incredibly sick. The restaurant was not open and had no posted hours. The refrigerator in the room was broken. When I went back to the main desk to kindly and respectfully request that they cancel my check-in due to the aforementioned falsely advertised amenities and health code violations, the girl that checked me (who was already pretty surly and unfriendly) told me that there are no refunds and that I would have to speak to the manager tomorrow. I informed her that the property was falsely advertised in violation of Federal Trade Commission rules, which results in Unfair & Deceptive Business Practices, and that the pools/hot tubs would not pass inspection by the local health dept. I said that if they failed to cancel the reservation, that I would file a dispute with my bank and report the issues to the appropriate government bodies for investigation, which was highly unnecessary as these were all easily resolved with a few days of maintenance. She told me to do what I needed to do. I filed the dispute and booked the Best Western Premier Tides down the road in Orange Beach and enjoyed their amazing amenities, awesome service, fantastic pizza, and HEATED pool right on the beach. They chuckled when I mentioned the Best Western Gulf Shores and agreed that the place is incredibly disgusting. Looks like the reputation precedes them. I would avoid this...
Read moreFive night stay with two king size beds and an ocean view was roughly $2,000 in mid June. The location is excellent. I, for one, do not want to haul stuff to the beach, even if it's just across the street. If I'm going to the beach I will find an affordable place to stay that is on the beach. This was it. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. It wasn't a large or stunningly decorated room. Don't come with grand expectations. You're not booking the Ritz. But everything worked and the view was amazing. And it was CLEAN! That was kind of important to me. The hotel was built in 1981 and renovated in 2013. The key cards are tapping cards and there are tiny shampoos, etc. provided. The balcony has two chairs and a small table. There are two sections to the hotel. We stayed in the section over some parking spaces which had three floors. The main building has six. The heated pool is in a third building which is in the parking lot closer to the street. There is no free breakfast as in some other Best Westerns. We ate at the restaurant once (it's open for breakfast and lunch) and it was good. There's no buffet situation if that's what you're looking for. It's also cheaper if you pay for your meal in cash. I noticed a few places that added at least 3% to process cards. There are no complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. There is a beach attendant and the chairs are up from roughly 8-4. The hotel was fairly quiet. It seemed to be mostly families. We didn't use the indoor or the outdoor pools. I got the impression that the indoor pool was slammed with small children and many floaties. Sadly, there is a lot of trash around the indoor pool building. There are vending machines and one outdoor ash tray. That being said, plenty of smokers still left their cigarette butts in the sand by the parking lot entry to the beach and along the beach. I have friends who smoke and not all smokers believe their butts miraculously disappear when they're done. However, there were enough hotel guests who smoked everywhere and scattered their cigarette butts on the beach that, at least when we were there, you'd notice. That was really the only downside. There were people in the water during a tornado warning and during thunder and lightning. I'm surprised there were no Darwin Award winners during our stay because of that. That aside, I enjoyed our stay, I liked the hotel and I would stay...
