Purple Octopus — Local services in Gulf Shores

I went to this store a year ago and left a kids toy behind. I said I would not return to this store but I found myself here today with some other family members. I explained to the store manager at the front about not wanting to go back, but she made things right a replaced this toy. Not many people would honor it but she did. So out of respect. I'm very upset with this store. An item for my three year old son got left behind, due to not being put in the bag. I have called three weeks without anything being resolved. I've been told a manager will call or I will even mail the toy myself without any response back. I have left numerous messages and still nothing. My little boy doesn't understand why he hasn't gotten his toy. Keeps asking if they can mail it. On a side note we live 24 hours away. Honestly, the employees were SO rude. We walked in about 4:45 and the lady in the most rude manner tells us we’re closing in 10 minutes and you need to be out of here by then. Well, the sign on the door and all over the internet said 9:00 and it was literally Black Friday LOL.

Aside from that, it is your typical over priced cheap quality tourist shop. They have a lot of options from clothes to souvenirs to shells to hermit crabs, but we didn’t buy anything because of how rude the ladies working were and how rushed they made customers feel.

As a shark lover myself, I was disheartened to see that this place sells these baby sharks in formaldehyde. This is very sad, disgusting, and disturbing to anyone that truly cares about the beach and its environment. Not only here do they do this here, but also at the souvenir places nearby and it’s very sad. Not to mention screaming and crying children everywhere you go! Terrible place. Hermit Crab enclosure was also very saddening to see as there were many dead crabs with no nutrients. Someone needs to report for Animal Abuse here.
