Great deals and the cashiers were super friendly and helpful. One of the managers could use a bit of work on her customer service and people skills. As we were shopping, the manager could be heard yelling at the cashiers and while we were checking out, we were having a pleasant conversation with our cashier as she rang us up. The aforementioned manager walked up, loudly (and very brashly) instructed the cashiers to "hurry up, there is a line," ignoring the fact that we were standing there cashing out (there were 4 of us with 4 different transactions but we came together) then when the cashier wasn't fast enough to suit the manager, she loudly said "just... go take your break" (again very loud and brash about it), completely rushed us during the rest of our transactions, and then she all but pushed us out the door. (The manager has wavy/curly long, blonde hair, glasses, slim build). Apparently this is common for her; we went back today to grab a few more deals before we headed home (we're not from the area) and when my friend mentioned something to the staff (basically apologizing that they had to work with someone like that and letting letting know they were doing an excellent job and to ensure that our cashier from the previous day knew we appreciated her as well), they apologized profusely and all but said they had heard that many times before. I would absolutely recommend Mike's as the bargains are hard to beat and the cashiers are super friendly and helpful, but would suggest giving the mentioned manager a wide berth while...
Read moreI visit this store once a week for the years I have lived here. I have always enjoyed the shopping and selection. Until today. I was about to check out and the elderly woman comes up and tells me I am not allowed to be in the store because my purse is too large. I spoke with not one, but two different employees for help with something prior to heading to the checkout So here you go, Mikes… I spend an exceptional amount of money in this store….
Do not approach me at the checkout with my CART FULL and tell me I have to leave because of my bag.
Don’t put a nasty and sloppy hand written sign on the door out of nowhere and expect people to do something different.
Have an employee at the door to explain this change and not so RUDELY and LOUDLY approach me…so much so that another couple checking out witness this and became uncomfortable then tried to comfort me for what they witnessed.
Next time, ask the person to refrain from bringing a larger purse during their next visit so you do not offend or upset the customer and maintain their business.
Don’t offer me the manager, work on your delivery and customer service.
As a business owner myself, I should charge your business for the free coaching and leadership, management and...
Read moreI walked up to the door at 4:54pm and the doors were closed with a young lady standing in the door. She opened it enough to tell me they were closed. I mentioned that I just needed to look at a shelf for my classroom and she said she was sorry that they actually close a few minutes before 5:00 so that they can leave on time. I asked really nicely if I could just take a minute to come in and look at it so I knew if my father-in-law could come back and get it for me the next day. She asked me if I knew exactly where it was and I told her no. I asked to talk with the manager, and the manager said we are already turning off the lights and waved her Hand at me and told me just to come back tomorrow. It was really such a rude interaction and I am so disappointed when a customer is about to spend several hundred dollars. If you close and lock your door before 5 o’clock, then you need to change your business hours to reflect when customers are actually welcome in...
