This trail is almost five miles long and offers spectacular nature views at every turn. As urbanites from the East Coast, we really appreciated the slower pace and mild weather here, giving us that rare opportunity to relax, reflect, and re-everything. And everyone we encountered seems happy and content.
This pinpointed spot on Google Maps is right where the Visitors Center is, and offers free parking and restrooms. There is another parking spot by Venice Beach about a mile up north, convenient for those closer to that area. Most of the trail is north of here and you need at least 1.5 hours if you're planning to walk the entire length of it. The trail is mostly flat so it's not too daunting to navigate for the average person. Oh and bikes are allowed too. Bring snacks and water as there's not a lot of places to buy provisions.
We didn't hit the beach as the water was too cold and there were signs in some areas warning visitors to stay away because of rip currents and the high concentration of bacteria...

There is so much wildlife and nature, plus if you go on a good day the weather is pretty good (but be careful, cuz it can get cold and windy very quick- it’s nor cal 🤷♀️).
