Taqueria La Gallina — Restaurant in Half Moon Bay

Had battered fish tacos (slightly spicy with a hint of sweetness, not oily), beef tongue taco (nice char, melt in your mouth), and carne asada taco (perfectly done steak, not chewy). We got the beef tacos “super” which includes guacamole and sour cream, and it did not disappoint. No skimping on the toppings, and everything was super flavorful. Nice area to eat outside. The inside area is small and lacks ambiance, and the bathroom is tiny and not well appointed…but honestly, when the food is this good, one can overlook inside bench seating and hold their pee. This taqueria offers a lot more than just tacos! I've tried several plates including their French burger which was my favorite for a while until they changed the bread they use to make it... Still delicious. They offer burgers and nuggets for kids, their breaded shrimp plate is to die for, for late snack I always go to their Nachos! I prefer to take out, but you might have to call more than once to place your order if they are packed. Very disappointed on this Mexican restaurant!! My family and I order a carne asada burrito, and the burritos had no taste; the food had no flavor, no taste, it’s all bland, and sad to say the least, the place is very filthy, also their restroom looks abandoned and unsanitary. I would never recommend this place to anyone else. I will not return for future dinning places in half moon bay.
