St. Florian Catholic Church — Attraction in Hamtramck

What a beautiful cathedral! There are fewer of these large gorgeous churches in the Detroit area these days. Our family used to go to St John Cantius in the Del Ray area, which has long been closed and torn down unfortunately. Masses are held in English and Polish, something our family appreciates given our Polish ancestry. Although we are not parishioners, we came here to request an Intentions service for our father who would have really appreciated being mentioned in a Polish service. The 2nd authentic Polish church we've had the pleasure of attending in the Metro Detroit area. But this one has an Old World European feel. It's on the corner of Florian & Latham, just off Holbrook Ave... it is adamantly clear of the great reverence these communities have for our God & the true deposit of faith He left us some 2000 years ago. ONLY 4 - Stars because the website advertised that confessions would be heard from 6 - 6:30 before Holy Mass on Fri 1/11/19 and they were not...Please give a 👍 Thumbs-up if this review...
